We were in the mood for mussels and it happened to be half-price mussel Wednesday there. Couldn't have been better! The two types of mussels we tried were excellent - we wanted to try the other three but couldn't eat that much :-) The grilled calamari were great.
Wanted a place to watch March Madness and get a decent meal. This place overdelivered. Great music, fun and attentive waiter, thanks Dave! I ordered a half pot of mushroom & bacon mussels. Three bites in, we ordered another one, which my 14 year old polished off himself. The lobster Mac and cheese was what that dish should be. At least a whole lobster in there with giant chunks of meat and rich delicious sauce. Far and above better than Wanted a place to watch March Madness and get a decent meal. This place overdelivered. Love this place. Kind of tough to get to with the local construction, but worth the extra steps. Good beer choice. Great seafood. Mussels, as expected, were excellent. Service is outstanding. The manager is very engaging. Can't wait to go back when the weather gets warm.
We came to Mussels for my father's 91st birthday. He is a seafood fanatic and the cuisine did not disappoint. The raw oysters, steamed shrimp and mussels were tremendous. The value of the near every day happy hour menu made it all the more worthwhile. The only downside was the construction going on in and around the block as the Harbor East neighborhood continues to grow and expand. All in all, the meal was memorable and Chef Antonio greeted us personally and provided a wonderful experience.
I truly enjoyed every minute! From the moment I entered the restaurant until I left I was impressed! The food was flavorful and our server was very professional and knowledgeable. I will be back!
Wife and I dined on a Saturday evening at 7:30 and there were only a few tables in this cavernous place. Not sure why. Based on food, decor, service, this place should've had a few more patrons. The moules frites plate was very good. Must be that the unabated wave of murders, carjackings, robberies, roving juvenile packs, etc. is keeping folks out of cHarm City.
Great food as we had the clams casino, crab cakes and a lobster roll, and a good beer selection, so that part went well. Still, we struggled with the service, not very crowded on a Friday night yet I waited for our server, and never received proper service. Once our food was served I never saw our server or anybody and couldn't request salt or anything else for that matter. Great seafood though but they got to get their act together b
Mussel Bar delivered great mussels, a better than expected salmon burger, and really great fries - both sweet potato and regular fries were excellent. I say "better than expected" salmon burger not because of this restaurant, but because I think salmon burgers in general can be a disappointment. Theirs was flavorful and moist with a pickled vegetable accompaniment that I really enjoyed. Service was on point. If you like mussels, try it.
Delicious mussels in white wine! Salmon burger tasted fresh. Service was great. Priced well. It was very loud though so not good for a quite dinner date. I would definitely go back here.
We have now been to Mussel Bar probably about 10 times and every single occasion, whether just friends getting together or a special birthday celebration for 50, they always accommodate and give great service, food and value for your money. The space lends itself very well to gatherings, with a large bar in the middle and all other spaces around it. Lots of light, large open entry and a beautiful lounge area with large windows, tv and comfy love seats, deep chairs and ottomans where you can easily hangout during your evening. We usually migrate between our tables and that lounge space-a really great kind of flow while you are there. They will also accommodate you if you wanted, for instance, to take your coffee and dessert in the lounge area, not at your table, it wouldn't be a problem. Everything on the menu is delicious, the bar works great, staff works with you on whatever you need. Please allow extra time for parking, because there is and will be still be for quite a while, a huge construction going on all around that area. But don't let it dissuade you from coming out into the city and having a great meal and a fantastic time with any size group of people.

First time that I've ever given this place 1 star. Took the manager and bar staff 30 minutes to change television stations and the place wasn't even busy. We were the only people on side of the place and they kept saying that others were watching. That's called laziness. Manager bought dessert which was nice. But what was interesting was the $2.50 charge for a club soda when are out tab was $550-/unreal
Awesome food, great service. Best Mussels I have ever had. The Mediterranean Mussels and the Raw Oysters were absolutely delicious. Wife had a salad with Salmon that was divine. Over 50 beers on tap plus the staple beers and drinks. We were so impressed from our first visit, we went back the next night after dinner in Little Italy. Highly recommended!!
We've eaten several there. The food is always excellent. Tonight the service was awful. We were totally ignored by an inexperienced waitress. Too bad as this place has nice potential.
We have eaten there on numerous occasions and one thing I have realized is you never know what version of this restaurant you are going to get. On our previous visit, it was very good except for the bartender who didn't seem to know how to make anything. Food wise, it was our best experience. On this visit, it was the food that wasn't on point. My wife ordered the steak frites, medium rare. It came out well done. So back to the kitchen it went. The next offering was still mooing, so back it went. On their next attempt, well done again. Three strikes, you're out. I think the problem is they are serving a steak that is too thin to be cooked properly. An easy fix for whomever is buying the meat. Switch to a different steak. I can't put my finger on why MB can't deliver a consistent experience. I don't know if the kitchen has a large turnover, or if the wait staff doesn't stick around long enough to know what they are doing. This restaurant has the potential to be very good as I think the menu is excellent. In the times we have been there, I don't know if I have seen any of the same servers. I am a repeat customer because I am hoping that one of these days they will get it right across the board. The wait continues.
When I walked in I was immediately met by a smile from the bartender, who immediately assisted me with a drink and menus. When we sat for dinner we had the sweetest server ever. And the food was fantastic. I would definitely go back again.
