This is the first Middle Eastern bakery I've been going to since the 90s.

I was a bit thrown off by how empty the store looks, but they have quality food and the owner is super friendly and helpful. I bought some Arab pantry items, spices, olives, hummus, frozen falafel. The olive oil is insanely good and very reasonably priced. I’ve always wanted to try preserved lemons so I picked them up there. There’s much more that I want to try (different pickles, halawa) that I’ll come back for. Check it out!

This place is down right scary , I am sure if you got to know the owner , things would be good as a go too , but frist time , just off the street , not so much.

Well, what can I say. It looks like nobody has bought anything here in five years. At one time, this place was like taking a trip to Iran. Now it us like taking a trip to one if those ghost towns in the old west. The owner was huddled in an office chair reading a book on mesothelioma. I felt bad for the guy. He said he had baked pita. He brought a plastic bag of pita baked at the MIDDLE East Bakery near Catonsville. He said he had sheep's milk feta. He brought me a two pound block of the flavorless Krinos stuff made from cow's milk. If you like this kind of food, go to Greektown to the bakery on Eastern Avenue. Allow this poor owner to fade away into the darkness in peace.

Great pita's. Friendly staff. I just wish they still made those sesame rings.

Just off Hartford Rd is this little middle eastern bakery. Wonderful fresh baked pita breads are available here but parking can be a bit of a challenge. It costs a buck to park in the lot across the street. The guy who owns the place is funny and friendly. The decore is pure Baltimore funk. If you're looking for middle eastern spices, this is the only and best place in Baltimore. You could order a few ounces of Za'atar off the Internet for $6 to $10 or come here and get a whole pound for 8 bucks! Similarly cheap prices for couscous, sumac and other middle eastern staples.
