Old Major is a rare and precious gem. The ladies who run the operation are so gracious and thoughtful! Everyone is made to feel welcome; and appreciated. The food is amazing, and the drink selection is huge! Old Major provides the kind of hospitality that used to be practiced more widely, but now is found only in the most special places. I feel fortunate to have found this amazing night spot!

Their limited hours always seemed to clash with my schedule, so imagine my excitement when I saw they were not only open but hosting an improv show! Talk about perfect timing.We rolled up and were immediately charmed by the atmosphere – way bigger than I expected! The improv show was a riot. Sure, there were a couple of clunkers (it's improv, folks!), but the overall energy was hilarious. I'm a big believer that laughter heals, and Pigtown could definitely benefit from a healthy dose of giggles.But here's what really sealed the deal for me – these folks host food giveaways for the unhoused. It's heartwarming to see a business genuinely caring for the community. This spot injects a much-needed dose of fun and compassion into the neighborhood. If you haven't checked it out, do yourself a favor and go get those laughs in!Fyi..They don't except cash.

The most adorable local bar in the heart of Pigtown. Candace is always pleasant and accommodating. The drinks are spectacular with a wide variety. They have tons of events and they even support the community. I don’t often have food but if I do the meals are always delicious.

I desperately want to give a bad review because I don’t want everyone to know about this spot. lol. However, I must give props where props are due, this place is a whole vibe. So unassuming from the outside but the atmosphere within is a while vibe. I was there for a Sofar event but arrived early for a bite to eat that didn’t disappoint. The women behind the bar were exceptionally kind and welcoming, with a whole Cheers vibe when some regulars arrived. I’m looking forward to going back soon!

Great atmosphere, food, prices & service! They host a silent book club that’s pretty awesome. Just attended my first of hopefully many tonight! For anyone with germ worries, You view the menu and order through toast on your phone which is super good (post Covid world is no joke). The people who work here are awesome, friendly, and just all around wonderful. A definite must go spot in Baltimore.Ps- ignore all the bad reviews, I’m convinced those people were delusional or maybe just wildly unhappy with their life and trying to drag others down with them. Although the responses to their angry disrespectful rants were chefs kiss entertaining perfection! So give those masterpieces a read, maybe at their next book club!!!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options! Ample non alcoholic drink options too!

I have now been to Old Major twice to for comedy shows and food. The atmosphere is cool and laid back with a large variety of bar offerings. The owners and staff are warm, friendly and accommodating. My group tried many of the menu items and enjoyed them all. Love the yucca bites! Check out this funky spot-you won't be disappointed!
I came here for a comedy show and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The staff was very friendly, my cocktail was perfect, and I loved their tater tots. This is a very cool neighborhood bar and I really got that community vibe while I was there. I'll definitely be coming back again.

just overall an unpleasant experience with the bartender and bouncer. both bartenders were extremely slow and didn’t know how to take orders or make basic cocktails. my friend waited a really long time at the bar to order a drink and was told to write her order down, I am an experienced bartender and I have never told a customer to write down their order. the bartenders looked so inexperienced. this was my first experience at the old major and it will be my last. I will tell everyone I know not to come here.

Honestly, 5 stars isn’t enough. The food was outstanding and authentic. The yuca bites and the jackfruit flatbread were my favorite. I’m not a huge drinker but if you are they have some great options for that. Everyone at my table raved about the drinks. I love that they have different seating areas depending on what vibe you’re going for that day. Their ordering system it my favorite as it allows you time to really look at the menu without having to wait for a server to come once you’ve made your decision. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Baltimore this long and never been!Vegetarian options: Multiple FLAVORFUL vegetarian options. (I’ve been vegetarian for 15 years and can generally tell when a restaurant adds veggie options as an after thought to the menu for extra $$)All of their veggie options were well thought out and delicious
