While the location and the service and food quality at Topside restaurant was a “5,” the room was not. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, there was trash from a previous guest on the floor and there were mounds of dust along the wall behind the bed. I was very disappointed given the reviews! I expressed this to the Manager during check out and was only given her card. No compensation or anything. Glad it was just an overnight stay. I won’t be staying there again!!
Went to the speakeasy the B-Side Cocktail Lounge!
The Revival is absolutely beautiful and the staff was all amazing -- especially the front desk and valet. The only (minor) issue we had was that their weren't enough outlets in the room and/or they were poorly placed. Just something to think about for your travels.
Condé Nast writers distinguish themselves by transforming even the smallest travel moments into scene-setting prose: the hotel lobby is never merely entered, it’s experienced. And so, here we begin.
My family and I arrived at Revival Hotel in Baltimore pleasantly weary, the kind of tired earned after hours of open road and anticipation. First impressions came courtesy of the valet station, where a slightly cinematic exchange played out. The attendant was… memorable, a touch enigmatic, and admittedly a challenge to decipher after our long haul. Still, persistence won out and eventually we conveyed the essential truth of the matter: we were guests, and our car would like to retire for the evening as well.
Inside, the mood shifted like a page turn. At the front desk, we were met by a woman whose warmth felt intentional, almost bespoke. She checked us in with ease and conversational grace. When I casually inquired about charging stations, she gently delivered the news that the garage lacked one, no inconvenience at all, as we were static for the day and planning little beyond restoration.
The elevator ride upward hinted at something promising, but the reveal came upon opening the door to our room, an impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed sanctuary that balanced boutique restraint with lived-in comfort. Spacious, serene, and styled with a designer’s quiet confidence, it was an ideal home base for our family of three.
Once luggage was tucked away and a small reset ensued, curiosity led my son and me to explore the hotel’s offerings. The ground-floor coffee shop hummed with artisanal energy, while the karaoke rooms winked with playful intrigue just beyond, a modern hospitality love note to both culture and whimsy. And then there was Topside: the rooftop restaurant poised like a promise above the city. We peeked in early, delighted by the panoramic potential and already plotting our return for dinner.
By night’s end and trip’s close, the verdict was clear: Revival excels at the art of the stay. Effortlessly clean, generously welcoming, and balanced in its offerings, it delivered a travel experience that felt both curated and authentic.
Would we return? Without hesitation. And as for Topside? A reliably chic and satisfyingly flavorful companion to a very good hotel stay.
As a wedding photographer, I love getting to photograph at Hotel Revival, but this reception at Topside was unreal. The space is stunning, the wallpaper is incredible, the views are incredible, and every detail is designed to make the night feel elegant and effortless. It’s the perfect backdrop for a truly Baltimore wedding.
1st time here. Loved the view & burger! Staff were excellent & the atmosphere was beautifully casual yet with a touch of elegance.
Sidenote: I would love to take care of their plants in case they see this!
A lovely hotel with very nice decor and an excellent restaurant
One of the more uncomfortable hotel beds you will find. About 6 inches thick and soft like a wood bench. Overall hotel may be good in a pinch but lacks location, comfort and cleanliness (see toilet at check in) of many 4 star peers.
Would recommend other choices if in the area. Think you can do better.
Loved the vibes of the hotel. Bedding was super comfy. The Dashery had good selection for breakfast. Would have given 5 stars but I was falsely charged for a Snickers and a Red Bull I did not take from the room which is suspicious. I called to inquire about this and was told they will be refunded, no arguments which I appreciated.
I’m disappointed to only leave a 3 star review because we stayed at the Hotel Revival 2 years ago and it was one of the coolest hotel experiences we’ve had. This most recent trip, though, was disappointing. The room was not well maintained. One of the side lamps was out, the bed was missing a fitted sheet, the TV was crooked, the wall had a splatter stain on it, and the shower took 15 minutes to get warm and had abysmal water pressure (and a metal shelf right behind the spout so if you backed up into the water you got a piece of cold metal pushing into your back). I talked to the front desk about the sheet and they offered a textured mattress cover or a second top sheet that was the wrong size for the bed, which was very odd. I also asked about paying to switch rooms so we could get a better shower but the hotel was sold out, so they said they would send maintenance to check out the shower but maintenance never came. I expected better since we splurged for the more expensive hotel. The aesthetic is really cool and both restaurants were great, but overall the little pieces added up to a disappointing experience for the price.

Excellent stay. Very clean. Great staff, very responsive. Restaurants on site were great. Will stay there again.
I never leave reviews, but our wedding weekend was so negatively impacted by the Revival that I feel an obligation share. Can’t say enough how disappointing the service was.
First, after speaking with five different contacts on the sales team for our room block, we learned (days before checking in) that the hotel didn’t have a room for us for the first night of our stay. Instead of working with us to honor the contract we signed (which included that room), the hotel told us that we could pay around $100 more for that night. Luckily, we pushed back and this was resolved.
When we arrived, our room had a plumbing leak, which was only made worse by the maintenance team. The sink went from dripping on the floor to entirely non-functional, the pipes underneath disconnected. We had to dump a bucket—which we happened to bring ourselves—of dirty water into the tub at 5:45am. This was the morning of our wedding. They also left dirt/grease-stained, wet towels on the floor of the bathroom. We were finally moved to a new room at 6am (with a smaller bed). Given we were getting married, moving rooms twice in one day was out of the question.
If you’re thinking about staying at the Revival for your wedding (or frankly any other time), beware.
The hotel was very cute and the room was nice. $50 for valet parking seems high so we parked elsewhere. The food at Topside was really good but we sat at the bar and the service was terrible. We often saw the 2 bartenders chatting, ignoring guests. We asked for an another drink and the check and the girl disappeared before I finally flagged her down and asked to just pay. The room was comfortable but at 8:30am we had room service knocking on our door. Overall was a nice location and good value but the overall service wasn’t great.
Clean, beautiful boutique hotel.
When I arrived, they had oversold the hotel and made up some story about a flood in the hotel that clearly had not happened. They had preemptively rebooked me at a completely different and worse hotel. They did not offer transportation to that hotel. And they were completely unapologetic about the whole thing.
Horrible way to end a 12 hour trip from Los Angeles to Baltimore. Wish I could give them 0 stars
