Good bands but cramped and be sure to wear good ear protection unless you want you ears to be permanently damaged like mine were at the last show
Wonderful crowd to go with an amazing show!
Small venue with great amenities and staff. It's worth coming here, even if you don't know the act performing!
Small, quaint, cool music venue with an additional bar upstairs. Lots of cool bands and cool people. Can be very loud, depending on the band.
Ottobar is intimate, up close for live music. We’ve seen some good bands there. It is well run, it is safe and the restrooms are acceptably clean.
Cool venue. Great vibes. Friendly staff. There are some oddly placed pillars that block site lines though and like everyone else has said it gets crazy hot. Honestly almost passed out and I wasn't even drinking alcohol. Overall good time
This review is for the 80s night on 10/4. The DJ was decent and many people were dancing. However, the heavyset bartender with red hair was super rude. In this economy, people in the service industry should be grateful for every patron they get. I think she was mad because I ordered a Shirley Temple. I was planning on ordering another on my open tab but due to her arrogance, not only did I not order another one, I didn't give her a tip. If she would have been polite, I would have tipped her 100% or more to make up for the small bill. Oh well hopefully this will be a lesson to her. FYI, straight edge people do exist and some of them tip very well.
Amazing place
First the praise: really informative website, clean bathrooms, and the inside looks great.
Sadly, the bad drowns out the good:
One of the openers couldn't make it, yet the only communication about this was a short email saying doors had been pushed back, and *still* it was 1.5 hours from doors to the show starting.
I've never seen sound mixing this bad at a professional venue. The vocalist asked for rebalance multiple times on stage and it was never done right.
No enforcement of the no smoking/vaping policy. I saw multiple people lighting up inside and it smelled awful by the end of the concert.
Lastly, packed way beyond reasonable safety limits. I expect general admission at a show to be crowded, but this was worse than the crowd when Dragonforce played the Soundstage.
I saw Los Angeles Power Disco and TWRP and had a fantastic time. I haven't been to many venues this intimate that also had a decent size balcony, which had a lot of seating options. The wooden bench in the front is understandably quite hard, but compared to standing all night, and to get that unobstructed view? Super comfortable.

Great show on September 26, 2025. Saw a favorite band for the first time, The Pack AD. These girls ROCK hard! The Ottobar might be small but it sure is MIGHTY!
Awesome staff
Went to the Ottobar for a Finn Wolfhard & The Slaps concert with adult child. Honestly this place needs better staff and security. There is absolutely no sense for panhandlers, homeless, semi-aggresive men to be there coming up to underage girls wanting money, cigarettes and making everyone uncomfortable while staff stand there smoking weed. Bathrooms we available if you begged the right person, questions only met with being told to ask another person. The top floor had a LGBQTs disco taking place the attendees were very nice and made attempts to have the beggers leave the females alone thankful for the help. Parking is not easily found nor safe feeling. Building is cramped, odd steps not disabled friendly, lighting poor on top of an uneven floor. I found it shocking that the band was not provided security or assistance in loading equipment as there were concert attendees rubbing and grabbing them. Improvements are needed...
Great smaller venue, and easy to locate from various nearby parking!
I love the Ottobar. It's a great, intimate venue with a good bar and the perfect spot for a merch table. The staff is super nice while still being serious about doing their jobs. I also want to give Ottobar a big shout out for being willing to accommodate disabilities. If you contact them before a show they will gladly help accommodate you. They've done this for me and my companion twice now and I am so so grateful.
