Nice waiter and that’s about the only good thing… the food was inedible. How can you put pineapple in a taco and not make that clear on the menu? The queso was congealed and lumpy. And they have terrible music playing at max volume. Even server was annoyed by it lol

Papi’s Taco in Hampden is always a good time — the food hits every time, and the vibe is fun without trying too hard. Our server Ava was especially great: friendly, attentive, and made us feel totally taken care of without hovering. We’ll definitely be back (probably sooner than we should be).

Such a casually electric spot! Nice shaded outdoors area, cozy brightly decorated indoors. Our server was super amicable and engaging. The food is stellar, great if you enjoy a strong kick in all your food. Strongly recommend the tres leches cake!

I’ve generally had very positive experiences with this restaurant and have enjoyed the food in the past. However, I recently called to place an order and was disappointed by how the call was handled. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude when I asked a few questions about the menu, which ultimately led me to cancel my order. It was a frustrating experience and not what I’ve come to expect from a place I’ve previously appreciated. Unfortunately you've lost me as a customer.

Great food. Service is always very good. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, which is appreciated. Reasonable prices. Great neighborhood spot and my go to taco stop.

This is my second time here in two days. My first time coming here was yesterday. I got the birria nachos and the Esquites. The esquites is the reason I'm here for the second time in two days. It's soooooooo good. Yesterday I didn't realize it was a dip to be eaten with chips. I got carryout so everything was in the bag including the chips. I thought it was just extra chips for the nachos. Crazy I know. So instead I just ate the esquites by itself with a spoon. It reminds me a little of cream corn but better with all the spices and lime. So I wanted to try it again with the chips. But nope, I ate a little with the chips and then picked up a spoon and ate the rest.
Even though the Birria nachos were supposed to be the main dish, they became the side. Don't get me wrong, they were delicious too and it was a huge portion.
I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the other items on the menu.

Probably the least flavorful tacos I’ve ever had. Also, I paid in cash and they said they “don’t do exact change” and basically stole a dollar from me. I asked them to give me extra salsa to compensate for the fact that I didn’t get my change and they said “sure” and neglected to put it in the bag. Should have known to walk out when they had a “gringo” version of everything because the food is not authentic at all. Will not be back.

The food tasted great and looked amazing when it arrived at the table! The servers was attentive and the space was clean and inviting. We opted to dine indoors, but the outdoor space on the deck looked wonderful as well. The parking lot is rather small, but such is life in the city. Street parking can be found close by.
