Pitango Gelato Fells Point

I love their gelato and my husband can get a delicious chocolate sorbet, he’s lactose intolerant. The customer service is outstanding. When my grandkids have had issues they always help make it right. I appreciate that.

Service was quick and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Gelato was yummy and very well made. Try the cinnamon it tastes like the milk after cinnamon toast crunch!!

This location had been my #1 gelato shop until this past Sunday August 31 when I was publicly humiliated by the manager in front of the entire shop full of other customers for coming there with my service dog (an extremely calm, trained, and well-behaved golden retriever). I did point out politely that this was my service dog but he started raising his voice and I was so shocked by his demeanor that I left feeling gutted. He suggested I should have left my dog outside with my friend (the idea is mindblowing and absolutely not in compliance with the ADA code). When I asked what I should do next time when I don't have a friend with me, he said they will take measures to accommodate me outside the shop (do I take it as an overt discrimination?) This is the first time I've been treated this way and no thank you but I don't want to experience it again unless their policy changes. Dear sir, sometimes disability doesn't come across written all over your face or body. Sometimes the trauma of death, pain, suffering, and loss doesn't shout out loud but nevertheless it takes an extreme courage, effort, and work to appear that way, and a service dog is instrumental in this process. Your reaction shows not only the absence of knowledge of the ADA law but also a lack of manners. If you have any issues with the ADA law, please raise your concerns with those who developed it, not the ones who it is supposed to serve.
Later that evening we were passing by the Pitango bakery across the street from this gelato place. My friend wanted to get a coffee but I was too scared to even think about getting inside. She went ahead and asked the server/attendant if it was okay for me to get in with my service dog. He was very nice and polite and said yes absolutely. We explained what happened in the gelato shop, and he apologized and said that this shouldn't have happened.

Love having this gelato for my ice cream cravings! I always get a combo of pistachio, black tea & chocolate sorbet. I have tried vanilla chocolate chips as well as cardamom and they are very refreshing aa well. A nice light gelato place. A must try!

The smallest Gelato was over $8, way overpriced. I ended up getting the brownie Sunday and it was okay, but not worth cost.

Creamy, smooth gelatos and super refreshing sorbets! Recommend the Hazelnut and Sicilian Pistachio gelatos. We loved the mango and cantaloupe sorbets. Tried mojito sorbet for the first time, a great choice for mint lovers! Great assortment of flavors. Definitely a must-visit in Fells Point.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. But, the Gelato were thermonuclear sugar bombs. There was so much sugar in them that any other flavor gets buried. Whoever is making them, at least halve the sugar!

Lots of cool flavors like mojito, cantaloupe, hibiscus, and passion fruit! And the flavors are so natural and delicious! I got their vegan Tuscan cantaloupe and vegan dark chocolate. Soooooo delicious and the perfect amount to savor each spoon

This was the best sorbet I’ve ever had. 10/10 for the dark chocolate and the local blackberry. Wish I could speak to the gelato — I’m dairy free, but my friends seemed to be having a fantastic time
