Sooo I ordered the catfish,Mac & cheese and Collard greens as a 1st timer …… Aaaaand All I can say is OH MY GAAAAAWD😮🤤🤤🤤Yeees!!!! I found HEAVEN in a Black Styrofoam container and It was EVERYTHING THAT U WOULD EXPECT FOR HEAVEN TO BE.🤷🏼♀️but don’t take my word.TRY IT OUT FOR YOURSELVES! I can almost guarantee that you 🙅🏽♀️won’t be disappointed !

The price compared to others don't compare, the portions compared to others don't compare, PlattaKing has delivered great food with portions for a couple of days. I have recommended and also put some coworkers on this spot. Don't cry about the parking or the location just order your food online which is simple to do, prepay online and once you arrive you will out of there before you know it.

Wow. These wings were insanely good, and I'm picky about my wings lol. So crispy, and FLAVORFUL. Fried perfectly, not dry at all on the inside, but also not too juicy to where I'm questioning things (If you know you know lol). The lemon pepper buffalo sauce?!?! Perfection. Sauce was the right amount of spicy, (I like spicy) but not too spicy to where it lingers too long. Seriously kicking myself for only getting wings, I'm going back asap to try literally everything else. 10/10

I swear this food was horrible last week, I had to wait until the following Thursday just to let the manager know, and he did nothing to accommodate me or my 3-4 coworkers who shared my experience, you try to support black business but it’s hard when they won’t take accountability/responsibility for horrendous food, I mean the Mac and cheese seems rottened, it wasn’t edible at all, the green reminded me of canned greens and the catfish was barely cooked, the skin wasn’t golden brown, rather it looked like the grease wasn’t changed at all

Food was delicious and well worth the wait. Portion sizes are very generous so don’t be too spooked by the prices for some things on the menu. Absolutely worth visiting.
Only downside (not for me but for others) is that they don’t generally accept cash for payment (excluding tips). And desserts are way overpriced. This is all takeaway too.

This place was a real treat, and the food was worth the wait. My order was flavorful and hefty sides. At the same time, the food was so good that I didn’t even want to share it with my friend. Minor concerns parking was atrocious, carry out only joint, desserts sold out, and my raspberry lemonade was diabetes sweet. Oh, skip the rice y'all variety of sides. This is officially a return spot whenever I visit MD. Thank you for showing people how it’s done in the restaurant tip.

Chicago Native review.. Food was seasoned evenly. Portions is more than expected. Wait time is typical for good food. All I ask to any soul food spot is before plating the order allow the fish or chicken to cook off before plating because when it’s fresh out the grease is still cooking & the heat will make the fish or chicken soggy in the container by the time you get home. Overall compliments to the establishment 💪💪💪good job

When I first pulled up to the establishment, I saw people fighting. The fight eventually moved outside, and while I was sitting in my car, I debated whether to go in. I realized that customers don’t always reflect the establishment, so after I saw the police arrive, I decided to give it a try.
Once inside, I quickly encountered unprofessional customer service and overheard a male worker arguing with a female customer. From what I heard, she was explaining how the lady manager behind the counter had been unprofessional toward her. Instead of handling it calmly, the male worker got defensive, and the situation was completely blown out of proportion.
Then I heard the lady manager say she was allowing the people who had just been fighting to come back and pick up their food. I’m not sure why you would let people who just endangered your customers back inside, but that was my cue to leave.
As I was pulling off, I saw one of the people from the fight walk back inside, which confirmed I made the right decision.
I drove two hours to try this place because my friend said it was good, but all I experienced proved that this establishment is neither people-friendly nor family-friendly. I truly wish I had never gone.
I’ve been here a few times but this time!!!! OMG I had to say something. The food is always great but today I decided to step out the box and order salmon which I usually don’t order because people have a tendency to overcook it! Not at The PlattaKing. It was perfect then I decided to get some seafood salad. It made me want to slap somebody’s momma! 10 out of 10! I ate the seafood salad while driving myself over an hour to get home so there is no picture of it. But the salmon….sheeeeeshhhhhh!!!! 🥴🥴🥴🤤🤤🤤🥰🥰🥰

if I lived in bmore I would have to walk pass this place with a blindfold. seeing it i would be in line everyday to buy something. the amount of food they give you is basically for me 2 meals so u definitely get your money's worth.
I got a chicken wing platter: 8 fried wings, Mac and cheese, candied yams.
honey lemon pepper wings: A. I dont eat wings alot nor do I care too much for lemon pepper on them but i do like honey. and since i wasn't sure what flavor I wanted the employee was nice enough to help me out and recommended this flavor so I tried it. the chicken perfect crisp to it. I tasted the sweetness of the honey more than the lemon pepper which I preferred so I was happy.
candied yams A++++ I loved this dish. I love very sweet yams. my dad use to make them like this for me and with the first bite. I felt like he left them his recipe. they were soft not overcooked and so sweet. I would go back just for this dish
Mac and cheese ,B- noodles cooked perfectly very cheesy but it lacked flavor. I think if they use gruyere or smoked gouda would bring this dish out better. and if they do use them its not enough. but I still would recommend because Mac and cheese is one of those dishes people make so different. it just finding one to your liking. this dish wasnt bad just not my preference in taste.

yellow rice: B+ wasnt expecting this but said it reminded him of popeyes dirty rice.

I’ve been here a few times but this time!!!! OMG I had to say something.
