I loved everything about this place. The r&b music they played the atmosphere the the service and food was perfectly seasoned and tasty. We had the oxtail egg rolls the grilled oysters for appetizers and fried lobster and crabcake for entree. The crabcake was truly lump. Our sides were broccolini asparagus mashed potatoes mac n cheese and the crab fried rice which also had lump crabmeat in it. We also had 3 drinks which were also good. For all of that our bill was only $210 including gratuity. I have no complaints and will be returning. I recommend anyone who is considering this place to ignore the negative reviews and they for yourself which is what I had to do and I'm glad I did.
Parking: They have valet parking but we were able to find parking right outside the restaurant

I was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday at this establishment with a 8 PM reservation on a Sunday. However, when I arrived at 8:03 PM, I was told they were closed as the last table had already been seated. The website states that you close at 11 PM, which left me frustrated and confused.
I tried using the call button several times but received no response, and when I called the restaurant, my calls were answered and immediately hung up. I drove an hour to get there, and it’s disheartening to be turned away like this. With my cake and balloons in hand, I drove back to DC, and was unable to celebrate my birthday.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this place. The food was subpar. Got the salmon bites as well as the fried lobster, which were both salty and not well cooked. We also got the oxtails, which were just ok.
The service felt rushed. It says online they close at 12am on Saturday, but the waiter told us they were now closed as we finished dinner and that they close at 11pm. We were told this at about 1040, not even at 11 or after. The entire dinner felt like we were being scooted along. Everything just felt very rushed.
They also automatically add 20% gratuity... doesn't match the level of service received. It was a complete waste of money.

Great food music and service. They have happy hour as well.... The salmon bites were great and the jerk chicken pasta. Parking wasn't good on the area.

The restaurant is beautiful. The food delicious. The service is friendly and attentive but a little uneven. That didn't ruin our experience The tile floors while lovely don't dampen the noise. There were several large parties celebrating It was a little loud but the vibe of the room is friendly and communal so we didn't mind. A great addition to downtown and convenient to theater recommend everyone give it a try. We will be going back.
The server was very nice; however, the food was lacking. I ordered the spinach and strawberry salad. The dressing needs to be better, perhaps a raspberry vinaigrette would work. We both ordered the hamburger sliders and they were so dry. I did point that out to the server. I don't think I would try this place again.
If you want dining room seating, contact ahead to make sure the dining room will be open for the day you book. Arrived and they said they didn't have a reservation but we could order at the bar.
Went here midweek on a Wednesday to celebrate a friends birthday.
While waiting for the birthday girl to arrive, I partook in the Happy Hour specials and ordered the Pineapple Express with some truffle fries. The fries were just regular…straight cut, supposed to have truffle oil season but I wasn’t visible and I barely tasted it. The drink was lovely though’ made well, sufficient amount of alcohol.
For dinner I ordered the Fried Lobster Tail and wanted the broccolini, my Bestie ordered the Jerk Chicken Pasta and she too wanted the broccolini. They were out of the broccolini and we were bummed as we both really wanted to try that. According to the Bestie, her pasta was flavorful, she added on the crab fried rice and when it came out it was PURPLE. We were thinking brown rice but our waiter corrected us and said no, it’s really purple rice. I tried it and it didn’t give what I was hoping it gave, slightly mushy but no real flavor.
My lobster tail seasoning was a tad bit spicy and I added on mac & cheese when told about the unavailable broccolini. I’m not a fan of overly oily mac & cheese, presentation was decent but the oil was very pervasive.
I also wanted them to bring out a piece of cake for her birthday but they did not have any cake to offer. Out of the 5 menus offered via QR code they’re actually was not a dessert menu offered…
I will be going back to celebrate someone else who is already booked, keeping my fingers crossed for a better food experience. Our waiter (name starts with a D?), he was awesome!!

My husband and I went for our 8th anniversary. The is reservation only on Sundays and he and I were the only ppl there. It was wonderful. The service the superb, the food was delicious. The oxtail eggrolls were my favorite. My husband enjoyed his snapper but found the sauce to be a bit salty. I had the salmon which was good perfectly medium. my only complaint was the mac and cheese. It was a bit gritty.

Great ambiance, food was delicious, service was pretty good. Have seen promos for a while and decided to try because it was listed for restaurant week. There wasn't an actual restaurant week menu although the restaurant week site had one posted but we enjoyed our selections regardless. I love that music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear the conversation at your table like so many other establishments in the city. The art was unique and appreciated. Seating was comfy and we definitely will be back again.
The server was awesome we have had him before he is a treasure to the restaurant! He provides great suggestions and knows the menu. I really hope when the new chef starts things improve because yesterday was extremely disappointing we brought out of town guests and they would only rate the restaurant “good” after we had provided rave reviews from our March visit. There were 4 of us and 3 received their food when 1 got her meal well into the dinner and no one explained why all the food was not brought out together. The prawns were in a hot sauce type sauce and the fried rice was bland. Our one guest got bronzino and he was not convinced that it was bronzino. The fish juice had run into the mashed potatoes not tasty and they looked more like grits not smooth or a great consistent mouth feel. And even though food was poorly delivered the service fee was not altered and stayed the same.
The food is too expensive to be so flavorless… My wagu burger was overcooked and too dry to finish.. My friends oxtails was under seasoned it was not good … these are the same people that own black Swan I remember going there and waiting 20 minutes just to get my first drink …Small portions…The food is not good… it’s just a cute restaurant. Our server was short and we felt rushed. I do not recommend…You’re better off at Fogo

It’s such a beautiful place , our server was outstanding funny charismatic and honestly made the nasty food food worth it with his amazing personality , the fish mash potato’s and broccoli tasted like nothing no flavor nothing the short ribs tasted like they had freezer burn the burger was under done no flavor the fries were burnt the best thing about the burger was the honestly the bread I feel like for what there changing I’d expect a little more but I guess they put all the money into making this look like a appealing restaurant verses acculy buying quality food(( we went to across the street for some pizza afterwards lol)) if you try this place and absolutely hate it like I did just go get a piece of pizza

I expected more for Prim and Proper, but unfortunately it did not deliver! Firstly, I highly recommend Forest (server) and Angel (manager) for their exceptional services. Forest makes the customer feel valued. Their services were the reason I didn't leave after receiving the appetizer.
The quality of the food was disappointing. For example, the appetizer hot honey fried chicken were flat wings with the bone removed. The pieces were fatty and indigestible. 10% were meat and 90% fat. Sauce had a good flavor. The Wagyu burgers were not infused with cheese and honestly by the texture and dryness of the meat; it was not Waygu. Look close at the pictures included. Fries tasted day old sprinkled with salt and garlic powder. Drink (no picture) was good. The prices did not match the quality of food. Please reinvent the menu and take ideas from guests and staff members! Peach cobbler breading portion was dry, lacked sweetness, and peaches were tart.
I will try brunch because I heard great reviews. If this is a fine dining restaurant why are fried chickens an option? Why were the jeans allowed for the dress code?
