There isn't a sign on the building, but there is typically a sign on the sidewalk. Parking is either street or nearby garage or parking lot. All parking is within a block. Service was fantastic. Loved the drinks. Hot honey old bay are reason enough to comeback! Enjoyed the red snapper, stuffed salmon with honey glaze, lobster, Mac and cheese, kale & the sweet potato pound cake. Looks like the brunch on Sunday needs to be experienced!!!

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at Proper Cuisine. We had high expectations and even chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary, but sadly, we never even made it inside. After arriving on time for our reservation, we rang the bell as instructed—and waited. And waited. For over 20 minutes, no one came to the door, no one answered, and there was no communication at all. Sitting outside with no acknowledgment on such an important day was frustrating and completely unprofessional. Needless to say, we took our celebration elsewhere. We won’t be back and can’t recommend this place to others looking for reliable service.

I made a reservation for 6:45 PM for my best friend’s birthday. We get there and it’s dark although it opened at 5PM it says online and the reservation was allowed. We are then let in and the Restauarant opens. We are waiting at our table for 20 minutes and the server finally arrives with no apology and says we open at 7 and there was traffic, are you ready to order. I will be making a social media video as well about my review, I try to support black owned businesses we ended up leaving because as stated no apology and very rude.

Ghetto fabulous. Not prim and proper at all.
Not the finer things type place you would expect. Solider boy playing in speakers. Food: Appetizers Great waygu sliders, great crab balls, oysters were alright. Salmon entrees: salmon way over cooked. Mashed potatoes came out cold, pasta a lil oily. Seemed very short staff but staff they had were great. Food took a long time to come out and place was over half empty on a Saturday night at 8-9pm. It was a family night and we wouldn’t go back. 5 people bill 320$.

Had a reservation for 7:30PM. Arrived, went inside only for the ALARM to go off and the actual restaurant to be closed. Worst birthday experience! I’ve tried to call and message the restaurant and no one has responded. Unacceptable and DO NOT RECOMMEND .
Absolutely horrible. We arrived 5 minutes before our confirmed reservation to a locked door- a server/bar tender showed up for her shift and had to call someone to let them know there were guests waiting in the rain. They were out of a couple items on their very small menu. They didn't have any lemons or limes for my water. They turned on loud dance club / rap music. The crab balls were mostly filler. When our entree's arrived - red snapper filet was a whole fish! And the waitress argued with us that it was how they always serve the dish- even though the menu clearly state”filet”. We left without dinner and the bill came with ab automatic 20% gratuity! Website very inaccurate .
I had been looking forward to visiting Prime Proper for over a year, especially because I had something special to celebrate. I decided to make the trip all the way from Boston, Massachusetts, with my favorite cousin, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
Although the restaurant's website said they were open, we waited for over an hour, and even called, but no one came to open the doors or provide any updates. It was frustrating, especially after looking forward to this visit for such a long time.
I understand things can happen, but the lack of communication and the delay was really disheartening. I hope they take customer experience and communication more seriously in the future. I truly wanted to love this place, but this experience left me incredibly disappointed.

I ordered the red snapper étouffée, and as a huge Creole food lover, I was surprised by the roux’s color and the minimal amount of étouffée in the dish. I ended up taking it home and making my own to finish it. Because of this, I didn’t rate the food overall—I’m hoping another dish will be a better experience next time. On the bright side, my cocktail was absolute perfection!

My wife and I were disappointed with our experience at Prim + Proper. We ordered from the Valentine's Day menu, hoping to enjoy the themed selections for the weekend. While the offerings sounded great on paper, the execution fell short of expectations. We were there for about 50 minutes in total. After placing our drink orders and selecting the four-course meal ($75 per person), it took approximately 25 minutes for our drinks, appetizers, salads, and entrées to arrive—all at the same time. This completely disrupted the dining experience. If the restaurant requires guests to request a traditional course-by-course service, that should be communicated upfront. Additionally, our table lacked sufficient space, forcing us to combine with another. The food itself was underwhelming. The salmon pasta was far from creamy, with a watery consistency, and the salmon was tough rather than tender. My wife's snapper was mediocre at best, with side dishes that did not complement the entrée. For a prix-fixe menu designed around a special occasion, the execution should be flawless. Courses should be served in proper sequence, dishes should arrive fresh and hot, and the overall experience should reflect the elevated price point. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet those standards.
The restaurant was nice, didn't expect a Valentine's Day set menu the day after Valentine's Day. We almost left but just made due. The waiter was very rude, moved too fast and rubbed everyone at the table the wrong way to the point that we didn't even want the dessert. We were just ready to go. Overall ambiance and food were good but the service will make me not return.
Had a 8:15 reservation but did not get seated until 8:45. It was Valentine's Day so I assumed I would not get seated in a timely manner but the hostess came up to me multiple times asking if I had a reservation when I had already checked in and told her my reservation was at 8:15. By the time we did get seated we felt cramped because the people on both sides of us were basically on top of us. Food was great but did not realize we had to do a 4 course meal which was $75 per person and could not opt out of it. Severely understaffed and would not be going back.
Took my wife for Valentine's Day and was very disappointed... they didn't tell me that they had a pre-set menu when I booked my reservation,so I wasn't very pleased with the food options, the music was loud like in a club no dress attire.I always try to give a establishment a befit of the doubt, but first impressions are always key we will not be returning to this establishment
It was the worse Valentine's menu. First we had a limited menu and drinks to choose from where nothing tasted good, the drinks were extremely weak. It wasn't a good experience
