Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

The girl cashier with braids had no patience. Couldn’t even wait for us to look at the menu to see what we wanted and she kept telling us to pay already. I felt rushed and disrespected. Shut the window right in my face.

Went to this Rita’s at 8:40 on a Thursday and they told me that everything was already closed down and that their ice cream machine was broken. I saw someone mopping in the back so it seems like they were trying to close early which I respect but just sad I couldn’t get my ice cream.

Trying to figure out why I walked my all the way over here for a pup cup to cool off, something I do maybe once a year for him, which in the past has always been a tiny vanilla ice cream, for them to hand me a tiny black condiment cup of whip cream with a milk bone. My dog is allergic to chicken so he just gets the ice cream and not the treat (which not their fault, we just throw the treat away and eat the icecream) … this time he got a single lick of whipped cream and sat there looking at me like…that’s it? Not to mention, I was trying to have a phone conversation and be a polite customer by finishing it and hanging up before I actually got in line (not a single other person was around) but I was rushed to order by the people inside after saying I’d be ready in a few minutes so I just panic ordered something random and was so caught off guard that I didn’t even say anything about the whip cream cup because I also had someone talking in my ear. I always order something for myself, in addition to the dog so it doesn’t look like I’m taking advantage so I’m not sure what the problem was here, which also this is like the one time of year I visit Rita’s. I even looked up if Rita’s changed their pup cup and can’t find anything. I ended up giving the dog the icecream on top of mine which is fine. This is a small thing and I’m not going argue with someone over dog ice cream the entire interaction was irritating and when you expect something to be a certain why, it can be understandably annoying. I just don’t understand why they didn’t give me what a pup cup has always been.

So the fat kid inside of me loves Rita's swirl ice cream. I get one of those and I feel like OJ did when he first met Nicole. Sheer bliss.

Alas, the kiddie size. The smallest size. Is like $5 and some change. Five dollars for a kiddie cone? ??‍♂️ And so, though I love Rita's inflation got me messed up and I'll only be frequenting there once a quarter.

It’s been a while since I have a Mango Gelati. It was delicious as how I remembered. Lots of parking.

Kid-friendliness: The play area is gated and has a slide, small rock climbing, stairs to a winding sliding board that is all built into one. There are benches located inside of the play area for the persons who are attending the children to sit. The ground is covered with rubber matting for safer play.

Wheelchair accessibility: The cross walks are wheelchair accessible and so is the countertop at Rita’s. The playground that is located in front of Rita’s is wheelchair accessible but the play area it’s self is not equipped for children who have physical disabilities or limitations.

If I could give a zero review I would give it the helsdos are very delicious but the moment you arrive and they open the window omg how frustrating to see the girl Shayna with her bitter face and her bad attitude towards serving the fatal customer my nerves went away. I usually go to this location and receive awesome misto shakes so I decided to switch it up. I ordered a Frozen Strawberry Lemonade because the picture looked like it would be delicious. When I received my frozen strawberry lemonade it was nothing but syrup and lemonade. I asked if this was normal and my response "I would not recommend strawberry; I would have recommended peach." The thing about recommendations is that they work best prior to completing the sale. After the young man stated that he stared at me with a blank look on his face with no attempt to resolve the solution. He than walked off as though I was not standing there confused by the advertisement picture. I end up throwing it in the trash and wasting my money. Not cool!

We have always loved Rita’s. I gave this review 4 stars however, because for two summers in a row now, it is rare that this location has chocolate ice, and we cannot go to the other location near us as it was closed down. My second favorite is the Swedish fish with vanilla custard, but my fiancé only eats the chocolate ice. We’ve stopped going because of this and either go to bmore licks, cup love or the snowball stand, but we tried again yesterday bc we were at ups, and again, no chocolate ice. I think it’ll be the last time we go to this location. If anyone from Rita’s is reading this review, please get the chocolate ice back and we will be there at least once a week.

Wow went to get a hot fudge sundae today and it was more like a a tbs of hot fudge. I paid over 6.00 for the sundae I couldn’t believe how small and pathetic this Sundae was this is price gouging at its finest..snowballs for me the rest of the year do better Rita’s
