Really wanted to love this place - their smash burger was good, it tasted like a better Big Mac. But as someone who loves chicken sandwiches, their chicken sandwich was very disappointing. It was so so fried I could barely even taste the actual chicken. I actually took two bites of it and couldn’t continue. The service and atmosphere were good.

This is the most reasonably priced place we’ve been in SOME time, and that coupled with the very thoughtfully created drinks, changing/local menu, excellent service…. Great time! My husbands cooking repertoire includes “chicken parm” only yet he suddenly turns into Gordon Ramsey when we eat out & he’s commented no less than 10x how great everything was! He prefers his meat medium rare, which turns out to be a very difficult thing to achieve in baltimore, but we never complain/send back, he usually just saws through the overcooked meat & goes home in disappointment - but not so at Sally O’s!!! Absolutely, amazing, perfectly cooked meat. I had the duck - which is my favorite thing to order on any menu (I absolutely LOVE duck) and this might be the best duck confit I can remember ever having. Service was impeccable - recommendations, timing, everything. We never had empty drinks, but we were not harassed either. The drinks were chefs kiss - espresso martinis with the brownie sunday: *to die for*.For reference we don’t have kids, and my husband cannot sit home for one weekend to save his life so we often eat out — **OFTEN**. We’ve eaten everywhere in the city. Done a circuit of all the Atlas restaurants, Chef Cindy Wolf joints, independently owned’s, all of them. The resounding thing we had to say on the way home was that we were disappointed we hadn’t tried Sally O’s earlier & that we can’t wait to go back. Definitely outpacing the rest of them. Kudos to the entire team tonight!!Any negative review I’ve read has been unhinged and given me a massive ICK. This place is the real deal. Go eat good food.

We had drinks and appetizers with friends at Sally O's. The beer selection was a little heavy on the IPAs at the time. The beets + goat cheese are really good!

This place is a home run. Reasonable prices in an old school Baltimore bar with elevated food and drinks. Great bartender and the food was amazing. I highly recommend checking it out.Specifically, the tomato bisque was one of the best soups I have ever tasted.Cool, quirky and tasty!

I came here with one of my besties after the Mariah Carey concert this past December and we ordered off of the late night menu, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! I was recommended this restaurant off of reddit and I am so glad a listened because the smash burger here was one of the best burgers I think I have ever had. Our waiter was also such a pleasure and attentive. Also, such an immaculate vibe inside, especially at night!Parking: There is free street parking on Conkling St. and the crossing street but it can definitely be a pain at certain hours of the day. Definitely not bad though and in a fine part of the city I felt safe walking at night in.

We received a few recommendations to try Sally O’s so we finally went for Valentines dinner and it did not disappoint! The staff was very friendly, the food was great, and they had a nice cocktail menu. I highly recommend trying the duck leg with the sweet potato mash and the mulled wine.

I was excited to try this place, made a reservation and didn't realize I made two. Showed up and was lectured by the hostess about how I should never have done that and if it ever happens again they won't accommodate like way over the top felt like a lecture from a military boot camp. So that was awkward from the start and then the food was overpriced. This place is in highland town serving D.C. prices? (12$ getaway car cocktail was average).. My chicken sandwich was really good, my friend said the french onion dish was something to forget. Was really excited to try this place, but the weird greeting from the hostess was so off putting I won't go back.

On Monday, February 5th, 2024, I had an awful customer service experience with a server named Miles. When I asked for the manager name on duty, she refused to provide that information. She was heavyset, not the Caucasian manager who is always sweet. It seems that this other manager tolerates Miles' behavior. I come here often for the smash burgers and I miss the server Jake, who was nice and friendly. Miles gave me an attitude because I didn't leave a tip. He left my bag at the end of the counter, forcing me to walk all the way from the door to retrieve it. I paid for a dine-in smash burger and also ordered one to go. I asked Miles why he didn't bring my to-go bag to the door where I was located, and he responded by saying, "I'm giving you the same energy you're giving me." This confused me because I hadn't had a negative experience until this point. To make a long story short, Miles had an attitude with me because I didn't leave a tip, even though I always do. I offered to give him $10 or even $100, but he declined and we went back and forth. The manager also seemed to think his behavior was acceptable. I gave Mike multiple tips in the past. I will never give Miles a tip again and I will make sure to inform my family, friends, and business associates about this experience with him. Miles need to be transferred because I’m sure he’s treating other customers the same way. This behavior shouldn’t be tolerated.

My wife and I often go here when we get a chance for a night out away from the kids. Never had a bad meal or experience in the 10+ times we have come. Menu is always changing so it's fun to see what's new and waiting for me. LOVE THE LUNCHBOX BEETS!!! Get them every time I come and their on menu. Have had our last 4 Anniversaries here, can't wait for the next!! Great for a quick non expensive night out or even indulge on an interesting entree.

Heard about the happy here so I had to come by for the $8 drinks. Upon entering, the restaurant is very typical Baltimore: a friendly neighborhood establishment nestled between residential row homes with a distinctive vibe and menu. And the vibe here was definitely an elevated dive experience. The bar for happy hour was packed but luckily we snagged the last seats. Onto the food! We decided on the Sally Mac and Cheese, the Carnitas Quesa-Tacos, the Fall Salad, and the Not Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The Sally Mac and Cheese was yummy and had noticeable notes of rosemary that really made it stand out. My only complaint is that all of the cheese was on the bottom and the noodles were resting on top, but once you gave it all a good mix you got a perfect ratio of cheese to noodle in each bite! The Carnitas Quesa-Tacos were absolutely delicious and a great cheat meal. The meat inside was very tender and the tortilla was the perfect amount of soggy and retained a decent crisp although saturated with the delicious flavors. The dipping salsa was the star of the show though it was phenomenal. It was similar to a salsa verde with a tangy flavor but also with strong notes of sweetness and cilantro. The Fall Salad tasted very refreshing and light, and I felt healthier with each bite! Lastly, we got the Not Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, which is a pretty standard choice so expectations weren't too high, but this absolutely blew us away. The chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with delicious flavors. The buttery bun complimented the crunchy chicken perfectly. It was a huge portion for the price too. Overall, I am glad I checked this place out-- it's definitely an unexpected gem in Baltimore. Will definitely be returning to try out some of the other menu offerings and for the friendly service!

Amazing dining experience. The decor was super cool and the staff were all incredibly friendly. We got a bottle of wine for the table and one of the staff was able to guide us into picking a bottle to pick out a refreshing option. The food was also so delicious and the portion sizes were HUGE. My table got the Sally Mac & Cheese which was cheesy (amazing cheese pull) with the best crisp for that texture difference. The Steak Frites was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the truffles fries hit the spot. I had so much food that I had leftovers and the steak reheated so well the next day. The house steak sauce paired beautifully with the steak but the steak was super flavorful even without it. The Highlandtown Smashburger and the Impossible Smashburger (vegetarian) were both juicy and delicious and are definitely a must-order for this restaurant. We couldn't decide on a dessert so we got their dessert board which includes the birthday cake, brownie, and an assortment of icecream. It was waaay too much for 5 people but their icecream flavors were quite different. There was bourbon, coffee, chocolate, and honey. Would highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a solid burger or steak.
