We chose Sammy's to celebrate my cousin's birthday, and it was extra special because he also knows the owner. We truly enjoyed every moment from start to finish. Ms. G, Laura, Jack, and Tim were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our experience even better.

The food was amazing! Started with the mozzarella and it was delicious! Then my daughter order the duck ravioli which she loved. I order the chicken Toni and Tina, it was superb. We ended with cannolis, which were top notch! Absolutely remarkable all around. Service was exceptional for hostess to the waiters.

The food is excellent however the person delivering our food to our table mixed up the veal Marcella with the chicken Marcella

Very quiet night for Sammys. I only had a table of 4, yet 3 separate people waited on my table. The servers didn't communicate with one another so they were all asking the same questions minutes apart from one another. Even asking all of them for a split bill, we still received one bill for the entire table and had to ask them to fix it. I felt rushed out of the restaurant. We were there an hour and 15 minutes. Its typical for Sammys to have a line out the door, but this specific night, there were 3(?) other tables. I booked reservations off OpenTable, which asked if we were celebrating anything special. To which I responded “yes. My twin and I's 27th birthday” yet nothing was done by staff or Sammys to recognize the celebration. I hadn't expected anything special to be done until they asked me that. What was the point of asking then? Food was absolutely delicious, no complaints there The cocktails were also wonderful but no prices were listed. When i got the bill and noticed one was 17$ that was a shocker... had i seen that on the menu I would've stuck to the 12$ cocktail. A small detail that also bothered me was the tables being pre-set with the menus on top of the bread plates and silverware. My menu was very sticky and even had red sauce stuck to the back. The menu was not clean and placed on top of the dishes im intending on eating off of... For how highly Baltimore City speaks of Sammys, i was surprised by the interruptive, inconsistent service from staff.

We like everything about Sammy's including it closeness to Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Our order was messed up a little bit- extra order of meatballs never arrived, but we survived.

First time dining upstairs, really liked it. Prefer upstairs when the house is full and downstairs when only a few tables occupied. Service was excellent and thank god for no music or if there was music it was low. I hate music in restaurants!!!

This is the best Italian we have ever had. The staff are amazing and seem happy with their jobs. We have been coming here for 3 years.

Dinner at Sammy's is always a treat and this was no exception. Make sure you get Julia's salad for the table. I had Judge Sweeny's Pasta Bolognese which never disappoints. My son tried the Duck Ravioli and said it was delicious. I will have to try that next time.

Overall the food, appetizers, drinks were all exceptional. The only issue was that we felt forgotten after the appetizers were done. We were seated for our 7:30 reservation and our dinners came at right around 9:00. With a 9:30 show to get to, we were forced to shovel down the delicious food and run. So that ball was dropped. Again, otherwise the food, ambience and drinks were all excellent.

Overbooked reservations with insufficient staff to service the patrons. Seated at very wobbly table. Had to ask for it to be fixed. While fixing, water was spilled. Stopped up water but did not replace tablecloth. Removed water and hostess said new glasses would be brought. After a half hour and after a request, water was brought and orders taken. In the meantime, a couple was seated next to us after we were seated for a half hour. That was when we requested service and told we needed to be patient, not saying anything about why the other table was served immediately. It was an hour before we were asked if our food was ok. Even had to ask for dessert and check. Food was mediocre. Heard other customers say restaurant was a scam and got served nuggets with marinara.

We booked 3 hours before a 9:30pm showtime at the Lyric and had plenty of time to spare after a leisurely meal. Next time I would probably do 2.5 hours early, but nothing less than that because they get very busy on show nights. The food was amazing!!!!

Ohmygosh, Marty Scorcese would love it here. Beautiful, nostalgic Italian cooking that feels like a hug. Valerie is the cutest, bossiest mom of a server. You’ll want to take her with you in life. There’s a reason this place is a favorite that we visit yearly. Bravo!

From the cocktails to the dessert, our entire experience was wonderful! Christmas Eve dinner tradition may have to be at Sammy's from here on out!

I am giving this restaurant a 4 rather than a 5 for two reasons: 1) the hostess was rather unpleasant when she discovered that our friend had asked. for a table for 2 and not for 4. This issue was quickly fixed. 2) the desserts were a little disappointing..However, the rest of our meal was delicious and we very much enjoyed the setting. We started by a large house salad and then three pasta dishes and a fish. Everything was beautifully seasoned. We had a very tasty meal.
