My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch and were very happy! I ordered the horseradish roast beef panini and he ordered the polish sausage and sauerkraut sandwich. Both were delicious! The sausage was so tender and flavorful and paired perfectly with the tender sauerkraut and tangy mustard and the soft roll. My panini looked like a picture from a magazine . Perfect flavor . Followed it all with the cream puff with sour cherries it was delicious! Perfect lunch

Ate lunch at Sophia's while on an urban hike through Baltimore. I was super hungry as we had already walked almost 10 miles. I asked for a suggestion of what to eat and WOW was I glad I did. Galumki (not sure I spelled that right) was huge and over the top good, as were the saurkraut and mushroom pierogis. I got a taste of the turmeric, ginger soup and it was fantastic. We were really full but had to taste the famous cheescake. I took it with us to eat after the hike- it lives up to the hype for sure!

If you’re looking for a great sandwich stop here. If you’re not looking for a great sandwich, change your mind and stop here. The roast beef was some of the best I’ve ever had and the bread was excellent. The people that work there are kind as well. So definitely hit this place up.

Check out Tom’s soups and pierogi at Sophia’s European Deli. You don’t see many eastern European locations thriving anymore and we were happy to support Tom and his team. In addition to his exquisite precision in soup collection (which you can bring home from the grocery section), the pierogi are a must have. Stop in for a bite and experience the real deal

Tried 3 of the homemade soups, and each one was better than the last. Skillfully balanced and delicious. Slow roasted pork sandwich was also a treat. Only wished I had one less soup, because the desserts looked amazing too.

Highly recommended. Delicious classic Polish dishes, plus other pan-European options, soups (including vegan, like their warming carrot-ginger-turmeric soup), and baked-on-site pastries. Order at the counter and sit at one of their tables to take part in the long history of Broadway Market, founded in 1786, this building refurbished in 2019.

Don’t forget to check out the broad selection of frozen and refrigerated foods, and imported items.

This is the kind of small cafe/deli that needs and deserves steady local patronage. My family is partly Polish and we’ve watched sorrowfully as stores like this have disappeared over the past decades. I hope Sophia’s Place continues for us all to enjoy for years to come!

A very very big recommendation for the excellent food at Sophia's - and the warm feelings it's served with.
I live outside Baltimore and was in the city this weekend, exploring Fells Point with a friend visiting from NYC. I'd read about Sophia's and wanted to try it. When we arrived, unfortunately they had just closed up the hot food service after a very busy festival Saturday. But the owner Thomas came over, and asked us what we'd like, and he re-fired the stove just for us. While we waited, we chatted with his sister, who shared that the deli is named after their mother Sophia and she shared some heartwarming stories of their Polish family history and cooking traditions. So my heart was already a little full even before the food was ready. Our gołąbki and pierogi were fantastic. And to top it off, as we finished, she appeared with two forks and a treat: "This is my brother's cheesecake", she said. It was sublime!
If you want a little taste of an authentic part of Baltimore, I strongly recommend you make a destination visit to the old Broadway Market in Fells Point and to Sophia's.

Very unpleasant lady ad the checkout. I gave up shopping in this store.

A longstanding Fells Point gem. Golabki and pierogi are obvious go-to's, but don't overlook the pantry goods & frozen to step up to the plate when you don't know what to cook for dinner. Some of the pantry items have made great gifts and my family have enjoyed sharing Christmas kielbasa and kishka over the holidays.

We need more places like this to be thriving. An original vendor from the old Broadway market. Classic polish dishes, soups, and tons of pantry items. Pierogi are delicious and the golabki cabbage rolls are super comforting.

We are from out of town and had a GREAT experience. The food was fantastic and the front line staff and chef came and spoke to us. Very welcoming.

Went there to get some Polish herring in oil and I wasn't paying attention and when I got home it was bad. The date on the jar was 2 1/2 months past the expiration date. Same for the juice. Watch the expiration date on the products you might buy there. The home made foods are great.
