SUSHIBRUCE YA is a favorite sushi restaurant in Baltimore, known for having some of the best sushi in Maryland. The dining room is medium-sized, small, and beautifully designed with warm and inviting decor, dim lighting, and lots of different textures on the walls. It creates a cozy, chill mood with chill vibes, perfect for a date night, featuring lots of small two-top tables.
The sushi is the star, praised for its fresh, flavorful, and high-quality fish that melts in the mouth. The menu includes four pages of progressively more intricate special rolls with creative combinations. Popular rolls include the "Sure Thing," with spicy salmon and avocado over a shrimp tempura crunch base, and the "Who's Your Daddy" and "Hot Night Baby." The nigiri is good, though noted as smaller than it once was. Other excellent dishes are the sushi burrito, loaded with spicy tuna, crab, and shrimp; the excellent Hawaiian Poke Tuna and lunch poke salad; the seaweed salad; and gyoza. Standards like the California Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll are also excellent. Portions are a great size with a generous amount of food.
The adult beverage menu includes Sake, Wine, and Beer, featuring a fun selection of Japanese beers like a Kyoto Matcha IPA, alongside hot sake. Service is generally good, welcoming, friendly, kind, quick, and helpful, though sometimes diners can spend time waiting to be noticed. The price is high but reflects the quality and value delivered. There is plenty of street parking nearby. The restaurant does not take reservations.
