One of my favorite places in the DMV. Excellent food, top-tier design and ambiance and the best music. And even more - was a a live saxophonist and violinist on two separate occasions. Every time I come whether it’s one friend or 5 we have an epic time. I love it here!

When I arrived on time I did request a booth even when one was open but the host decided to seat another couple on that space. Everything was nice besides that. My server saw my high top 3 times and wasn't great customer service. From a guest point of view I think she should have checked on us even after waiting almost 1 hour for our food to come out. Oh, she my steak came out my grace had to wait another 5-10 for his food to come out and that wasn't expected. Besides these minor negative feedback o would visit again and may just have to sit at the bar for a better service.

I really wanted to enjoy my meal, but the level of spice made it difficult. I understand the restaurant may be owned by someone with African roots, and I’ve visited Ghana and enjoy authentic African dishes myself. However, when you’re serving American-style dishes, the spice level needs to be adjusted or at least offered as a choice.
Let me start with the positive: the green fried tomatoes were out of this world. They were seasoned perfectly, fried beautifully, and absolutely a must-try. I would come back for those alone.
Unfortunately, the beef short rib pasta was a disappointment. The heat from the spice completely overpowered the flavor of the dish, and I couldn’t really taste anything else. I also wish there had been more meat in the pasta. For the price for 6 people $557, it felt like wasted money because I couldn’t enjoy it.
The ladies I was dining with had the same issue—their rice was so spicy they ended up taking it home instead of eating it. None of us were able to enjoy our main courses.
I truly believe the restaurant could improve the experience by simply asking customers whether they prefer their food mild, medium, or spicy. That small step would make a big difference and allow everyone to enjoy the dishes the way they’re meant to taste.
Also let me not forget. The $20 they charged for parking on the side of Duncan donuts. Like come on. But it is what it is at this point.

Our first visit and it did not disappoint. Byron was our waiter and he was very meticulous about everything. They acknowledged my husband's birthday and that was a sweet touch.
