Great to finally try this place, it’s a real gem! Good food and excellent ambiance. Afghan food is really interesting and very palatable, similar to north Indian food in many ways and a few of the dishes are closely related but it’s still unique. For an upscale restaurant the prices are quite reasonable. Definitely recommend for locals and visitors alike!
The food wasn’t terrible, but definitely way below average. I’ve had much better Afghan meals elsewhere. We ordered two different vegetarian dishes, and both were so disappointing we couldn’t even eat them. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Pretty date spot in Baltimore. Excellent naan
This is a lovely restaurant in the MT Vernon area of Baltimore. The food here is delicious. I highly recommend the Kaddo Borwani, which is good with their freshly baked Naan. The Chicken Kabob is also good. Finally, we had the pudding dessert, and that was fantastic, and I don't usually care for dessert.
Amazing food with top tier flavors
In Baltimore for the weekend, stayed in this neighborhood, … such a pleasure to come across. The food tops out of one of the best meals - in our top 20 - the food, service and atmosphere was a blessing to receive.

Really great food. Tender cooked meats in delicious savory sauces. The dining room is nice. It is a really busy place and fills up quickly, so reservations are best. The Turkish coffee was really good. My only complaint (and i know this sounds strange), but the food came out too quickly. We ordered an appetizer, and it came out 2 minutes later. We ordered dinner, and it came out in 5 min. I just wanted to sit and chat with my friends for a few minutes and enjoy the ambiance. Overall, it was a great experience and I will go again.
Food was fantastic! The pumpkin appetizer was so simple but like nothing I'd had before. I had the Aushka and loved the spices in it all. Also,I wish I could give 10 stars for food service atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and attentive.

I have never had Afgani food before, so I was worried about not liking what I was going to get. Boy I was wrong, everything on the menu sounded so good but I really wanted to have a lamb dish, so I tried the Lamb Lawand and I was not disappointed.
I've never had lamb so tender that it melts in your mouth. The spices went so well together, and I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed the spinach side dish with it (I don't always enjoy spinach). The rice was phenomenal as well. It was definitely more of an Earthy dish, but not overwhelming. My boyfriend had the Chicken Kabuli, and that eas also very tasty as well. It was more sweet than the Lamb Lawand, but not overly so.
The staff is super respectful and very kind. We sat outside because it was a beautiful evening, but the gentleman always came by to make sure our waters were topped off and if we needed more drinks. The inside is also very clean and there is ample space for inside eating.
I would highly reccomend this restaurant if you are looking to try new food or are looking for a good Afghani place to eat at. You will not be disappointed, I look forward to coming here again, thank you for the delicious meal!

Ample options for any palette with the steamed pumpkin continuing to be the stand out star. Food is spiced & savory & balanced with service running smoothly & quickly. Ambiance is perfect for their intimate dining areas and interesting decor. Wheelchair friendly with open doorways and level ramps.
Vegetarian options: Multiple options as well as a sample platter to try a bit of everything
Wheelchair accessibility: No barriers in the door and an internal ramp means no steps in the dining area.

This restaurant was a really fun place to visit. The staff was absolutely amazing, the food was great, and the whole atmosphere was just really beautiful. There was a light music playing which was a good addition to the indoor dining table. I absolutely recommend the Afgani pulao. the Lamb is so freaking tender and OMG!!!!!!!
Coming here again!

Amazing Afghan food!
This place is a highly rated restaurant. This will probably come in the list of top 20 restaurants in Baltimore City. Their food is absolutely delicious. We went there for our anniversary dinner. The only feedback I had was they didn't do anything for the anniversary celebration. Usually other restaurants give a small cake or bring some balloons for the people who are celebrating their anniversary or birthdays or special days. They really need to do something for this. Otherwise everything else is fantastic there.

Ahhh… I have a love affair with their vegetarian aushak. The Helmand is simply amazing & so so delicious. I’ve brought my parents here while in town & they love it too. Such kind people own the restaurant & deserve all the support.
Gluttonous portions of good food. Nice service and ambience . It is on the pricy side but I don’t really know the economics of having a restaurant in that neighborhood. So who knows. Good parking on a Sunday afternoon.
