They did a raw bar for my niece's wedding at a farm in Southern PA. Everyone raved. Oysters from True Chesapeake were spectacular. Perfect for the time before folks sat down to dinner. Ask for Jen or Nick.

“The Local Oyster to close both Baltimore restaurants Saturday: ‘The hard decision had to be made’ by Baltimore Sun News.
DILLON MULLAN.
November 6 at 8:11 PM ET.
The Local Oyster is closing Saturday, founder Nick Schauman said Monday afternoon.
Schauman started setting up his roving oyster bar at festivals and markets in 2013 and opened the first permanent Local Oyster location inside Mount Vernon Marketplace in 2015.
The Locust Point location opened in September 2022 as the first standalone location for the restaurant specializing in Maryland seafood and local beers.”

Soft shell crab sandwich was delicious. Some of the best fries I’ve ever had. My boyfriend loved the oysters too!

What a fantastic experience.Terran was our server and shucker of oysters. She was attentive, courteous and educated us on the different types of oyster available to sample. We took her advice and were absolutely blown away by the delicous oysters we sampled. The Bloody Mary was very unique, and the crab dip fries were as delicious as they sound. This establishment is on our list of places to visit when we return to Baltimore, and we are hopeful Terran will still be there shucking and serving her customers.

Every time I come to Baltimore, I come here. This is my favourite place. Always fresh and delicious.Today I had some oysters and the soft shell crab sandwich. Both delicious. Also, great drinks; I don't usually drink Bloody Marys, but theirs is to die for. Service, top notch So good!

1. The soft shell crab sandwich and fries was too salty for my liking.2. The food was still nice to try out.3. Ordering was nice and easy.4. The surrounding area is very clean but can be a bit crowded at times.

This place is a medium sized stand in the Mount Vernon Marketplace. The store associates are very friendly and welcoming, checking in and making sure the food was good. They also offered all sauces and condiments. The oysters themselves were also tasty - both the raw ones and the fried ones. Happy hour is 4-6PM for people that are interested!

The Local Oyster met our need for fresh raw oysters with prompt, friendly service and an artful presentation. I had six each of two kinds of southern Chesapeake oysters, Skinny Dippers from St. Jerome Creek and Huckleberry oysters from the Bay shores. These were served with four different sauces, and each oyster had its own lemon piece. I enjoyed watching the shucking and also the squeezing of fresh fruit for juices. There was a full bar. One could also get oysters, clams, and shrimp fried, steamed, and on a sandwich. This was a great seafood experience.

I got the Chesapeake Club and was not disappointed. Add local oysters and local beer, and the place has something for everyone.
