This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was really impressed! Drove a hour away! 😬 The food was delicious, they had a variety of oysters, atmosphere was great, and the service made the experience even better. Kimberly was my server and she was absolutely amazing friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. She really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food was great!!! The service was a bit slow but it was crowded the evening we went so it was maybe to be expected. I would definitely be back for some delicious seafood. Highly recommend the lobster roll, snapper bites and the scallop entree!

I had really (really really) high hopes for this spot, even travelled all the way from the DC suburbs, but unfortunately I was underwhelmed and honestly disappointed.

For a restaurant called ā€œUrban Oysterā€, my group and I expected way more raw oyster selections (there were only 3 the day we visited) and more oyster-forward dishes. However, the raw oysters we did try did not disappoint! I do wish there was some sort of deal for a dozen or half dozen. As for the starters, my group tried all except the lobster roll and wings. The flavors of the chargrilled oysters were really good except the flavor profiles of the teriyaki and BBQ cheddar were nearly identical — both good but wish they were more distinct. The oysters also could have been meatier and had more moisture. It seemed like the cheese on the cheese loise and BBQ cheddar dried them out. We were excited for the but we very unimpressed. The flavor of the snapper was completely drowned out by the sauce which simply tasted like a regular thai chili.

For entrees we tried the steak frites (very good), crab cakes (my friend enjoyed them), and seafood flatbread (very garlicky and more like pizza than flatbread). We also tried the crab soup which was a generous portion size and pretty tasty. Unfortunately the food wasn’t hot upon serving so it was a bit difficult to truly enjoy.

The desserts were very delicious — I had the butter cake, one of my friends had the key lime pie which she said could have been more lime-forward, and my other friend tried one of the sorbets which she really enjoyed.

No problems with service, everyone was very friendly. I didn’t have trouble finding parking, as there’s many spots on the street, though I can see how it might be troublesome. Also beware if you do park on the front street you must back in or you may be ticketed. Apparently there are street signs but they are not visible at all (even the restaurant hostess mentioned this) nor are they anywhere near the parking spaces or meters.

Very good food and excellent service. We started with the deviled eggs, which were topped with fried catfish rather than fried oysters. The grilled branzino was succulent and flavorful. Unfortunately the white bean puree, which was heavy with cumin, seemed out of place. I would have preferred a little lemon, maybe capers, in it for a more mediterranean flair. The tiramisu brownie was decadent. Noise level was high considering the restaurant was only half full.

This is an experience! My best friends and I, were on a girls’ trip through 4 cities. But this dining experience by far was the best! I ate the chargrilled oysters to start and the seafood flatbread for dinner & it was delicious! I live in Atlanta and fully intend to immerse myself in the same experience the very next time I am in Philadelphia!

Food was mid. Service was just as unremarkable. Bring back the old chef that knew what he was doing.

I just ate at the Urban Oyster it was clean nice atmosphere . I had the crab and corn soup and wings which were good. My problem was the 14 dollar desert which was not worth it the ice cream was just a pinch a two year old could swallow it down and the cake was good but quite small totally over priced . I asked the server about the ice cream to see is it was correct said it was and because of that I will not be back .

We had been trying to get reservations for over a year. Everything was so good: wings and charbroiled oysters, steak frites & fries, warm butter cake! Our dessert was an anniversary present! EVERYTHING was excellent - thanks Erica! Well worth the wait! See ya next time…

The food was decent but pretty expensive. The seating is cramped especially since each table has an open flame. There was a 20% gratuity added automatically even though we were a party of 2. The menu states that it will be added to parties of 4 or more. I planned to tip that much anyway but I dislike when the menu is not honest.

Lovely find in the cute neighborhood of Hampden in Baltimore. We were traveling back to DC from Philly and decided to stop for lunch in Baltimore. They offer much more than oysters as only my partner eats oysters. Reservations are a must on the weekends. We didnt make one and just sat at the bar. It's a beautiful, quaint restaurant. Service was attentive. For appetizers, we ordered the oyster deviled eggs and red snapper bites. The latter is actually a whole snapper, chopped into bites and sautƩed in a sweet sand spicy sauce then placed back on the fileted body of the snapper. Both items were very good (although my partner said that oysterson top of the deviled eggs were just ok). We also had the collards/cabbage side item. Im not a fan of cooked cabbage, but this combo was well-seasoned and tasty. Our entrees were the branzino and the crab cakes. They crab cakes were all meat and no filler. They were pretty good. The branzino itself was ok (grilled and only seasoned with salt and pepper), but when you eat it with the bean puree underneath, it is really good. For dessert we had the vanilla butter cake and subd the mango sorbet instead of the vanilla ice cream. The dessert was superb. Definitely recommend stopping by.
