This spot is great. Amazing food and customer service. Me and my wife’s first time at R House and we chose to eat here because of how good the food on display looked. Everything we got tasted amazing and after we were done eating Tio G came to our table to personally ask how everything was. I highly recommend if you’re in Baltimore to check them out.

I am writing this review minutes after eating what will be my last Tio G’s meal. This was my favorite spot at R-House and has been my go to spot since I moved to Baltimore over 3 years ago. The food was good and being from the Caribbean myself it was nice to have a small piece of home here. So why the one star review?
On the past three times me or my fiancee have ordered here, the staff has been extremely rude and condescending. The first two times the same employee was rude to my fiancee as there was a typo on the menu (showing PTY instead of PYT Burger), but we brushed it off as weird interaction. However this last one was an interaction I had with none other than Gerdyn Mojica, “Tio G” himself. All disrespectful encounters centered around the way burgers were ordered. This last one was because I said I wanted a PYT burger with everything on it. This didn’t seem like an odd request as I have ordered similarly in other burger places and this one. However this seemed to upset Mr. Mojica as he sarcastically reminded me that he didn’t know what everything was, and that a burger with everything on it would cost around $35 (I did the math later and this is was not true as a burger with all of the possible adders did not surpass $17). I ask what normally comes in the burger and he curtly says that it normally comes with just bread and a bun and that I would have to specify what I wanted by looking at whats on the menu. I then start listing all of the ingredients that normally would be added for free on the burger. If I say I want a burger with everything, does it not imply I want a burger with all of those ingredients? Why make me list them one by one and be rude about it? Why not ask me if I wanted some of the adders that cost extra instead of lying about the price of the PYT burger with all the adders? I have ordered a burger with everything in the past and this has never happened.
My advice: make sure you make those burger orders perfectly since they are clearly passionate about how they are made and willing to lose customers over it. If you want to taste a bit of the spice of the Caribbean with none of the warmth of its people, Tio G’s will not disappoint.
My advice to Mr. Mojica: If you aren’t personally able to handle basic front of house customer service without throwing a fit, hire someone that will do it for you.

Yesterday I ordered one empanada and waited for more than...15 minutes. After I put in my order, nothing happened. There was a lady in the back just stood there on her phone, I thought she was waiting for something. No, she was just on her phone and did not check the order screen until 10-15 minutes later, open the fridge, got all the ingredients to make one empanada. (I was also the only ONE customer). Then just put in on a tray without making any announcement.
Completely shocked by this experience...
The empanada itself was okay

This place is absolutely amazing! My wife is from New York and has been craving Dominican food. She said this place reminds her of home! The pernil was phenomenal. The owner was very friendly, charismatic, and down to earth. Answered all of our questions and took great care of us. 10/10 definitely recommend!!

The shrimp and crab empanadas are my favorite but they are all amazing!! Everytime I come to R House l, no matter what I get, I always get some empanadas; whether I eat them there to take them home for later. EAT EVERYTHING HERE! Only thing I may change is that the dipping sauce can be updated or changed around a bit but it's still good. Also drinks are very delicious.

Let me tell you about Tio Gs!!! Food and service were top notch from the moment we began browsing the menu.
Last week I was at R House with a large group of friends and Chef G took such good care of us. From good conversation to personalized hospitality he was on top of things. And the food?? Delectable. You can tell that everything we had was made with love and care and we had quite a lot of food. I had the seafood empanadas, tostadas, and guava and cheese - all excellent. Friends had other empanadas and some had fries. All in all we had an amazing experience because of Tio G. Some of us have been back since - I’ll be back next time I’m in Baltimore!! Thank you for taking such good care of us ☺️

Yall the pernil empanadas are incredible. I literally crave them.
The food was so fresh and flavorful. I got the chicken Dominican platter and this was enough food for me to split into two meals.
Also try the lemonades also very fresh and yummy. I’ll def be back :)

The chimi burger was delicious omgg!!! It was my first time eating here and I’ll most definitely return to try out the rest of the menu.
Saw a review about the fries not being good, idk what they tasted… but the fries were great. They’re crisp and lightly battered.
Also it’s a Latin kitchen baby, of course it’s fried! Can’t wait to be back.

Ate there last weekend ordered the steak and cheese, beef, and crab and shrimp empanada as well as a lemonade. They’re quite pricey but the food came out fresh, but the empanadas lacked a lot of flavor and the meat in them were dry. The crab and shrimp was okay. They came with sauces which just tasted like mayo and ketchup mixed which honesty didnt go with any of the flavor profiles from the empanadas . They definitely weren’t what I was expecting, especially for the price. Lemonade was good tho .. overall rating 3/10 wouldn’t recommend

I ordered a chicken cheese steak and a chicken empanada from your establishment in our house. I repeated the order back to the person at the front register 3 times to make SURE I wasn't handed a beef steak sub.. I dont eat beef as it makes me sick. I get home, open it and take a bite; ONLY FOR IT TO BE BEEF. The young lady taking my order was VERY rude. My first and ONLY time there. Id give it 0 stars if I could.
