Although I no longer live nearby, I recently learned they closed last year. I was sad to hear this. Thanks for all the good times.

I actually like this place- it has a nice outdoor seatings area and far from the street. Very quiet for people to chat. The food is not bad as brunch!

This is a solid lunch and breakfast spot. I had the best Reuben ever! The meat to kraut to dressing ratio was perfect. The bread was grilled to a perfect crunch. I highly recommend it.

This was a stressful experience. We ordered our pancakes, eggs, potatoes, etc. and waited way too long. The café was not packed. There were only four other parties seated; of the four, three had food. About 30 minutes in, I went to the desk to inquire about our food; we were told that it was up next. Another 15-20 minutes go by and several parties that ordered after us were getting their food. My frustration was beginning to boil over. One customer came to our table to apologize that our food was not ready. They ordered behind us, received their food, and were done eating....while we sat with empty glasses of water. In addition, we were feeding the kids goldfish crackers from our purse because they were so hungry and moody. I went back to the desk to ask for our money back; we were leaving. I shared that it doesn't take almost an hour to make breakfast food, particularly when the establishment is not crowded. In addition, I didn't appreciate that multiple customers who ordered after us received their food before us. The owner admitted that the reason why our food was late was because they lost our ticket. This made me more mad. Why had no one communicated this to us to explain our wait? Why were we sitting at our table over 45 minutes later with empty glasses of water? Why did they not admit this accident when I first inquired about the food. But no, they said the food was coming out next, but it didn't. They lied to have us wait longer; completely disrespectful. I would have had grace if they were straight up, but I cant stand being pacified. I told them to keep the food and to provide us a refund. The owner said that the food was almost ready if we just give them a moment (the food was still not ready). I said no thank you. She said are you sure because the food will just go in the trash. I told her that I'd like a refund please. She asked again if we would at least take the food. We agreed because the baby was crying and needed to eat food. In the meantime, please process my refund. She later came by our table with a $25 gift card to their cafe. She apologized about our experience and said she hopes we would give them another try. It was at that moment that it was confirmed...she thought I was dummy. In essence, she wanted me to accept a $25 gift card instead of our refund. Note that our bill was more than $25. I thanked her for the gesture, gave her back the gift card and asked for my full refund as previously requested three times. I am confident that I will not return. Should you choose to visit this café, here are some things to keep in mind * This location is tucked away. Give yourself some leeway to navigate the courtyard. * Even if you are dining in, you order your food with the cashier and they give you a number to carry to your table. * You will not be seated; you can choose your table. Note: This is not a bad thing, I just want to help your expectations. *There is plenty of parking. *This café is very cute and airy. *They have a very nice outdoor patio area. *The staff did an amazing job with following COVID protocols. I definitely felt safe sitting inside. *I loved that they held all customers to COVID protocols. There were two women who arrived in front of us. They entered without masks. The cashier explained to them that they were required to wear a mask to receive service. I was so grateful to witness this. While I did not have the best experience, that may not be your story. Give them a try. The food was pretty good. It is my hope that they learned and have grown since my visit.

A regular go to place when traveling to Baltimore. Really friendly neighborhood restaurant. The food is always freshly prepared and they have a great menu. The blueberry muffins are unreal. Good coffee and Americano’s. If you like hot coffee, try this. Not sure how they get it so hot. Immediately outside the Delta Hotel which makes it really convenient if staying there. Close to Loyola University. Inside and outside dining. Try it.

I come regularly with friends, especially as outdoor seating enables me to observe COVID precautions easily. Food is always good and fresh, staff are friendly and happy to serve you. Specials vary the menu; we especially love the salmon. It's a quiet, tree-shaded location, and perfect for a great conversation anytime.

Baked goods are fantastic. Menu items are good, but for it's location I thought it would be better. Returned my pasta salad.

I came to this place due to the great reviews, but they may have been having an off day. Came here as we were looking for a quick meal. We waited over 40 minutes, just to get breakfast food. I had to go up and check in on the food, and shortly after all of the restaurants food came out at the same time. There were people there that had just gotten there, yet we all got the food at the same time. The eggs in the big breakfast were cold. The potatoes were plain. I liked the outdoor vibes of the place, but service was way too long, for mediocre food.

I and my spouse often come and do enjoy the many finely prepared entrees. THE FISH AND CHIPS which we shared recently was truly exemplary - the batter was fresh and crisp but the FISH was perfect. A gentle moist and beautiful color and flaky. Cooked gently and perfect. Even the tartar sauce had a personal touch as I would have anticipated. A SPECTACULAR DISH - made our evening in their open space patio. Thank you and all involved

The service was terrible and the customer service was not on point. The crew was disrespectful and the man behind the counter was vaping. This place is already located in a dying location and now I'm starting to see why it's dying. You can't expect to bring in customers when you can't satisfy them. Sorry and I hate to see it. IF YOU KNEW BETTER YOU'D DO BETTER.

One of my favorite places in the nation! I was a flight attendant for 10 years and legitimately one of the nicest little cafes with a wonderful menu. Their breakfast is wonderful!!!

I've had quite a few bacon egg & cheese sandwiches in my day, but Village Square Cafe has one of, if not, the best I've ever encountered. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I'd absolutely recommend this spot for breakfast, lunch, or coffee meetings.
