Disappointed by Unexpected Closure
I was looking forward to trying Werner’s Diner and Pub, especially after reading about its long-standing history and classic diner vibes. Unfortunately, they were closed today during posted business hours, with no signage or update online to explain. It was a letdown, especially since I made a special trip. Hope they update their hours or communicate better in the future.
No one greeted us for 20 minutes. They ran out of all food other than breakfast on a Saturday around 2 pm. Waiter didn't tell us until after we ordered. They only were serving margaritas at the bar. We left immediately after. Never again.
The place is a dump! The food and service is horrid!!! It is nothing like the old Werner’s and shouldn’t be able to use the name. Last time I ate there about a month ago we were leaving and I stopped at family at the door from coming in and told them to please go somewhere else because they were about to have a horrible meal.
Their Facebook page should be an indication of customers reception as there has not been one positive comment on their food since the summer of 2024.
This was my second visit here and I had a good experience both times. This time the service wasn't as good as the first time but each time I really enjoyed my food
Servers are lovely and the place is charming but the food is really really bad. Just grab a coffee or a beer.
I know it’s a famous diner, but it could use a facelift. The mid review is because they literally had nothing the day I came - lemons, brussel sprouts, eggs, nothing. Luckily, the food I did order was tasty. I got the jerk glazed lamb chops, however, they needed some work. It would’ve been better if they glazed and then grilled the lamb chops as opposed to throwing a thick coating of sauce on top and plating it. Thankfully that large delicious lemon drop came as requested.
Absolutely disgusting breakfast. Egg omelette was like rubber, pancakes were not cooked thoroughly, breakfast potatoes had raw onions, and the best part is they had no coffee! Runaway from this place!
This was my first time visiting Werner’s and our waitress Abby was the star of the show. Her customer service was A1 and the drinks she made my friends and I were bomb. The food was ok but the overall experience was good enough for me to go back again.
The food was great. I had my mind on coming in this morning however i was shocked to see thatva gratuity of 20% was automatically added to the check for only 2 people. Then i was asked if i would like to add an additional tip. Normally i come in with a party of 7+ but this was a surprise for me today.
This is a Great Spot in the middle of downtown Baltimore. They open early, serve Excellent Dishes, and are priced very fairly. I am really looking forward to my next visit!
Parking: Very limited free parking on street; most spots have a meter to pay for parking.

This is not the best brunch spot. We were told over and over to be quiet like we’re children. Do not go here if you’re looking to enjoy your Saturday brunch and laugh with your friends. Also, they will NOT split the bill.

Not sure about the food, haven’t tried it yet. However beware , I came in and ordered some food to go when U got my check there was a 20% service fee of $3.40. When I asked Was what it was for I was told because I came in and ordered versus ordering from n line. What I don’t like is that the gentleman never mentioned that when I placed the order. Nor is that mentioned on line or on the menu
I feel like I am being forced to pay a tip and at 20%. I feel like walking out and leaving them with the cooked food and no 20% service fee. On Top of that the gentleman who waited on me behind the counter was short and unfriendly in his approach When I asked for the owner he told me “right now I do not know how you can get in touch with the owner. Clearly it good business practice if you don’t let the customer know in advance what your business and billing policies are
Kid-friendliness: Not sure about kind friendliness but definitely not customer friendly. Short and unattractive service.
Went here and met some friends for my birthday. It was a Saturday it was busy when I first came then ended up slowing down. Service was okay. Food was decent. I would back.

Went here on a weekday (Wednesday) @5. We got greeted by an employee telling us the restaurant was closing for the day because business was slow. My suggestion to any one who comes here, call before you come.
