I consider this to be a "hidden gem." I can only speak for breakfast; this place serves just as good of a breakfast as any diner in the city. If you happen to be downtown and looking for a good breakfast, this should be on the list.

I would give this place a 4.5 but no option. I was down the weather and wanted hot soup to open up my sinuses. Came in for chicken noodle soup but had to do with Maryland crab soup but I don’t repent it. Loads of vegetables and warm, I wish there was more crab in it, but worth the money. The vibes are of a regular American diner and you can come here with family. Do not come expecting over the top awesome food. This is comfort food.

Restaurant has closed. Poor management lead to no one wanting to work for them. Loved the food but unfortunately the owner did this to themselves.

I have occasionally eaten breakfast here within the last 4 months or so. I liked the atmosphere. This morning however I was surprised to see a customer sitting at the bar with a dog. The pet didn't appear to be a service pet (no vest or visible indicator). Secondly my order went back because the side of potatoes weren't correct. With today's exuberant prices along with tipping there's no room for error in service. I came to Werners to support small business, however today would be my last visit.

Visiting for quick weekend in July. Found this place after so many had long waits. So glad we did. The food was great and the cost acceptable. We came back end of Sept and this was a must stop for us. Some of the best home fries we’ve ever had.

Came for brunch (and coffee) because it's close to the pier (where we spent the night). Convenient location near public transit is definitely a plus. More inconspicuous than I expected. It looks more like a neighborhood pub than a diner, but the narrow seating and old decor does give it a classic vibe that anything more flashy would have ruined. All day breakfast lunch and dinner. Yass Ordered a breakfast special and was surprised the size of the omelette is about the same as the size of the scrambled 2 egg special. Don't omelettes normally have more eggs? Aren't they usually fluffier? Hm. The home fries are potatoes, which my daughter did not appreciate (ew onions!) The hot cakes were surprisingly big! A big plus but also not expected so we couldn't finish everything. Lastly the milk was not good (says one of my kids) and the coffee was weak. Service was decent but not super helpful. Drinks not refilled unless flagged.

Awful. Can't prepare a burger in 45 minutes. Caused me to not be able to eat lunch on my break from Jury Duty. Never returning.
