This was my first time ordering pick up from here. I showed up the time it told me the order would be ready. Then I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for the food. They weren't even busy at this time. I saw several EMPTY TABLES. Then when I went to eat the food it was COLD!!! Literally this is so disappointing and I will not eat here again. Such a waste of time and money.

Would love to give a better review. It was Anthony's first day and he tried his best. But his team let him down. We waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged, then waited 12 minutes for our second drink. The manager forgot to input our food order, so we waited an extensive time. Then we had to season our own food with salt. My margarita was lacking salt, or even sugar. Sadly, we've been 'hall of fame mug club members' but we are tremendously disappointed in our experience.

So, I am going to start off on a positive note regarding the Greene Turtle in Bel Air, MD, and then I will get to the negatives that are the main reason for my review. If it was not for the excellent service of Julie and Danny during pool league, I would probably never come back to this establishment…EVER! It was such a fresh new beginning when Julie arrived and took over the serving duties for pool league. She has a fantastic personality and the perfect demeanor for hospitality that is reenforced by the same qualities and demeanor of Danny behind the bar. I appreciate them so much because the prior employees were awful, downright awful, besides Yanni. It was a sad day when Yanni left.
Now for the negatives which is the main reason for this review. The dining room in this place is dead as a doornail every night I stop by, walk by, or shoot during league play. The perception is that the pool leagues are keeping this place alive. The food here is mediocre to awful. Portion sizes have shrunk significantly over the years, the quality of the food is terrible most nights, and the drinks are very expensive compared to other bars in the area. The menu is basically the same from when I first moved to Harford County over 20 years ago, when this place was packed, beside a few newer items. Even the staple food items of this establishment have shrunk in size or are reportedly purposely being skimped on. I used to bring my family and the sports teams I coached here all the time and my wife and I are mug club members. I no longer bring my family, I refuse to go to the Turtle if asked to go there, and, if I was still coaching, I would not recommend bringing my teams here.
The biggest problem that the Greene Turtle will not fix over the last 3 years/summers is the air conditioning in the pool area. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE POOL ROOM AREA!! This is absurd!! I finally had enough last week when shooting pool here that I had to write a review. It is so hot that you are just sweating the entire night when simply sitting at your table not moving. Your drinks are watered down within 5-10 minutes since it is so hot in there, and the tables are routinely dripping wet from the condensation coming off your drinks. Water around pool tables, pool sticks, chalk, and on your hands is a nemesis and a terrible combination!! Water and sweat ultimately hinder a shooter from properly shooting due to the stickiness - any pool shooter will tell you this!
The lack of air conditioning was brought to the attention of prior management numerous times approximately 3 years ago. Teams have left or don’t shoot during the spring/summer session because of the heat, or the players come, shoot, and leave. There used to be 16 teams in the league and there are now 11. Informatively, one original manager at the GT from the inception of the pool tables being installed has been promoted several times leading to him being General Manger and now a Regional Manager. But even with him being in a powerful position within the company who could do something to correct this issue has fallen on deaf ears. I was routinely contacting him but stopped about a year ago since he did not help with installing proper air conditioning into the pool room and would not respond to my inquiries.
What did GT do you might ask, they rigged two small pipes from the ceiling of the dining room to shoot cold air into a very large room that ultimately has no effect on the room cooling down. Since that time, one pipe does not work and is facing the brick wall. They then purchased and plugged in a large portable 3-foot industrial fan that they put on the floor to try and move cold air around the room. It is so loud that you can’t talk when around the fan. See the attached pics.
Over about a 1 ½ year span, more and more complaints were being thrown at management. We were told a year ago that an air conditioning company was supposed to be coming to fix the issue. When the issu

Quesadilla was terrible. Very little chicken. Chicken was supposed to be blackened but wasn't. No flavor. Artichoke and Spinach dip had no artichoke in it. No flavor. The burger was unacceptable for a restaurant. Better burgers at a fast food place. Fries were warm not hot. Waiter should try another profession.

Don't sleep on Greene Turtle in Bel Air! Everything we ordered was very good (crab dip, apple pecan salad, chili, funnel fries), drinks were excellent and our server Brendan was very attentive. We hadn't been there in a few years but plan on making it a regular stop in the future.
Food and atmosphere is just sad. Looks like they heated up frozen food.

Their food was average but the service and atmosphere were horrible. I waited 30 minutes for my order to be taken because the waitress was talking to her coworkers. Then waited 45 minutes to receive my food and by the time I got it it was cold. I wouldn't recommend this site for decent service or a hot meal.
Parking: They are located inside Harford Mall so there is plenty of parking.

Called to find out the hours on Memorial Monday, only to be told the time as "it depends". On what? I asked: "we may close early".
OK, what time? " I don't know, maybe 9, it depends"
Needless to say, I'm going somewhere else
