Horrible language barrier and long wait time. Ordered to go, took 35 mins for 2 rolls. Just asked for a slight variation and gets it wrong both times. Too many other options to deal with the frustration. The sushi is very good though, no doubt about that

Half decent sushi, but the woman is extremely rude. I don’t understand what they were saying but I understand the tone when someone is talking about me. As a minority, I was taken back by the way I was treated by another minority group. You do better go elsewhere for sushi in Bel Air.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at Zen16! We went on a Wednesday night and were the only ones in the restaurant. Our experience with the chef and the waitress was excellent. It was the perfect amount of conversation and service!
The food was spectacular! We eat a TON of sushi and this little hole in the wall is the best in the area hands down. Last night was the first time in a while I’ve had eel that wasn’t chewy. The tuna and salmon were absolutely fantastic. The options for specialty rolls covers almost 3 pages in the menu.
Overall this was such a great dining experience! We will definitely be back soon!

Hidden Gem Near Sweet Frog~
Nestled discreetly next to Sweet Frog, this restaurant is a delightful surprise. Upon entering, you are welcomed by a fresh and aesthetically pleasing decor that exudes a blend of modern and traditional Asian influences. The service is swift, the prices are reasonable, and the food is exceptional. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

Just ordered from Zen16 for takeout today, and already missing being there in person. This is my happy place in bel air. No other restaurant feels so welcoming. There is something on the menu that is everyone in my group's first choice. The quality of the food is excellent and it is night out I always look forward to either just the parents or with the three kids along as well.
Vegetarian options: Actual vegetarian rolls that cover multiple taste preferences. Enjoyed by the younger set and those of us who are over 12 as well.
Kid-friendliness: Service is great with kids, accommodating and patient. Also make "starter" chopsticks for those still learning the ropes.

Very expensive and rude. They charge higher than what is shown on the menu. When I asked why they said because they have so many old ones and they do not want to spend the money on new menus with the correct prices. Every conversation I had with the waiter, she would talk about me ordering only or just not coming into the restaurant. Then she added a 15% service fee to my bill that was not shown on my copy of my receipt. I would not recommend eating here.

Got the volcano roll and Philadelphia roll last night. The volcano roll was good but something definitely tasted off about the Philadelphia roll. I’ve had raw fish and different kinds of sushi at other places so I’m sure it wasn’t my taste palette.Another point to mention is that I decided to give this place a try even after my experience from a few weeks ago. My friend and I drove 20 minutes from Joppa, arrived around 9:20 to place an order, and once we walked in the employee looked shocked and asked us to leave because they were closing, even though their hours are listed until 10pm. It would’ve been understandable if they specified they stop taking orders entirely at a different time. But if your website and google both specify 10pm, the time you close should be 10pm.Probably won’t be coming back, there’s better tasting sushi out there for better prices.

Zen 16 is a quiet sushi restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere and tasty food. Service was nice and I enjoyed my vegetarian sushi and age tofu. Would love to come back again and try some of the other dishes.
