Staff was very pleasant and engagig. The curry chicken was delicious, not a heavy gravy and full of flavor, with just the right amount of spice. The Jerk Chicken was delicious as well. Everything was very fresh and hot!!!

Vegetarian options: Vegetables fresh, tender and balanced seasoning well.

Parking: Share lot, but plenty of parking.

Today was my first time trying this place. I ordered Chicken Curry with two sides of white rice. Coco bread and a chicken patty. Baby when I tell you everything was so delicious. The best Caribbean food I’ve had and that’s saying something! Thank you so much l. I will be ordering again! & the lady who took my call was so kind. Thank you!!

Food tasted made to order, so fresh and plentiful! Customer service was excellent. There was no wait. I enjoyed it but I do wish the OX TAILS were meatier for the price. The curry chicken was good, a tad salty but good. The rice and peas delicious. Beef patty, I’ve had better— wasn’t full, more crust than filling. Plantains were just OK, not as ripe as I like mine. I would dine here again.

9/15-Jerk chicken missed the mark! It was OLD (rewarmed as it had a wood texture and the flavor was not like Caribbean jerk)

I gave them a 3 for the food because the rice and cabbage was ok.

I drove 40 mins based reviews…and I was disappointed.

UPDATE: As I said in my initial review the jerk chicken missed the mark! I said it was OLD not cold! The chicken texture was like wood (the restaurant clearly rewarmed it as it WAS NOT FRESH!!) and the taste did NOT taste like authentic jerk chicken!

The person who responded to my review clearly doesn’t know how to read! Furthermore, they were too busy trying to conclude why I had a bad experience instead of being apologetic for the NASTY WOOD TEXTURED CHICKEN…!

I don’t recommend this establishment as it’s NOT authentic Caribbean food. I said it!

I knew the moment I walked in and saw a port of Marcus Garvey the food was gonna be authentic and that it was! I got the oxtails rice and peas and it did not disappoint. Everyone who knows me knows I love Carribean food especially my children’s Jamaican family and it taste just like their home cooking! I will definitely be back!

Hewston. OMG, you weren't lying. This food is so good (and I know it comes from a clean kitchen, too!). We got the curry goat (thanks for throwing in some oxtail) and the jerk wings. Everything was delish from the rice to the cabbage (which I'm in love with). We appreciate you bringing the food to us @homesteadgardens, but now we have to find you in Beltsville!

This place is not what the other reviews say. The chicken is not season only with jerk seasoning. The rice had no peas in it, just appeared to be white rice with gravy. The cabbage was undercooked and it is hot as s*** in the building! No Air for whatever reason !Beef Patty was not fresh. The best part of this experience I will have to say was the chicken patty. If this is the best in the state I feel bad for the state of Maryland cause I have had better from NC!

Would love to give the place a good review hopefully the food is good.. I have been waiting for my food for 35 minutes after placing an online order 20 minutes prior to driving here, to make sure it would be ready.. Unfortunately they placed three - four orders that were placed after the customer that have already been in the establishment plus my order to the back because the other orders were “ big “… I spent $60 + so me or any other patron should have to wait excessively.. This is my first time here and it will be my last based off customer service.

I was shocked to find this place! Found it on google! So naturally, I Went in and tormented the owner lol

But seriously the food was amazing! I got a jerk chicken dinner!! I was sure to ask if the jerk chicken went on the grill and he assured it was authentic!!

He didn’t lie!!!

Rice and peas was a hit!! I swear that brown stew chicken gravy he put on my rice was everything!!
The plate was so heavy, I had enough for dinner and a late night snack after work!!

I told him I’d be returning. && will!!

This restaurant has great food and great customer service. Friendly, warm, and welcoming environment with seating. Clean and spacious atmosphere . I enjoyed the Jerk chicken and Oxtails platter. Very flavorful, tender, authentic taste! Well seasoned dish from the meat to the veggies! Overall excellent choice if you're looking for great Caribbean eats, look no further!
