Second time dining. Food was good.
Service was horrible. Rude server who wanted our party of 8 out as fast as possible. Bill came to 1k plus a surcharge of approx $30.
This restaurant had gotten a little too big for its britches, which is too bad bc it had such a great opportunity to be the best place in Bethesda.

Great place for a meal. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. Some of the best pasta I've had in the US. Drinks are well balanced. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Wait staff is observant and prompt. Somehow this place works both for date night and family dinner (older children).

A few weeks ago, we visited and initially couldn’t find a table. Just as we were about to leave, the manager kindly asked us to wait, as a spot at the bar was about to open up. We’re so glad we stayed! We enjoyed some amaros, cocktails, and a pasta dish each. The service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a place you come to with an expense account not a place you actually dine at. Very weird vibe all around and the food was lackluster.

I had such a wonderful time last weekend for Brunch @ Aventino. My server was lovely, from El Salvador - she made solid recommendations that did not disappoint. I had the omelette with fontina & mushrooms which was delightful with a fresh “side salad”nothing short of fantastic - bursting with flavor. But the best part was sfogliatelle made with orange scented semolina custard in flaky pastry shell.. when i tell you that the crunch of it was so beautiful flaky and crispy my neighbors said it was enough of a sell for them to order themselves. The manager - who i think said his name was Justin, was also lovely and introduced himself as soon as I was seated. Lovely ambiance, beautiful music playing in the background on a Sunday. I would love to come back with my parents for my dad’s 82nd thanksgiving weekend brunch.

One of the worst Italian meals I've had. We had the ricotta and suppli al telefono as appetizers, both very dry. For entrees we had the tonnarelli, ravioli and saltimbocca. The tonnarelli tasted like cardboard and you could barely taste the ravioli filling. The only decent part of the saltimbocca was the sweet potato puree. We finished with their caramel apple budino, which was the only decent dish of the evening. Their servings are smaller, which I can appreciate. We ordered our final round of drinks and the manager came to inform us we had 20 minutes until they would need our table for the next party. As paying customers, this was incredibly rude especially as there were empty tables near us.

I’ve been to Aventino several times now and up until Sunday I have always had top notch service. The food is always a 10 out of 10. On Sunday my husband and I stopped in for a quick bite before we went to see a movie. Our waiter, Brian, was slow and inattentive, I had to flag down the waitress working alongside him more than once. We would have loved dessert but we did not have time due to everything being slow. From the time he gave us water, to taking our order… thank goodness the other waitress helped us and gave us our check or else we would’ve been late to our movie. I am still giving Aventino 5 stars because the food is phenomenal, and the service I had before this has always been outstanding.

This place is shockingly underrated here. It's one of the best, if not the best restaurant in downtown Bethesda right now.
Food is top notch, service is always great and decor is beautiful. It's somewhat out of place for Bethesda but I hope they are here to stay.

Was in town for business and wanted to take a few people out, called two nights in a row. Once for takeout and once for a reservation and was wildly disappointed by the hostess’s attitude on the phone both nights. Unfortunate that I will not dine here as the food looks good!
The experience was absolutely amazing. Everything was so friendly. Came here for a date night with my husband and we will definitely come back.

Best lunch in Bethesda. Aventino is delicious and the setting is idyllic. There a few truly special lunch spots like Aventino. The service is friendly and efficient. We were celebrating, so we lingered. That said, I saw folks on obvious schedules who were in and out in an hour yet it was obvious they has a nice experience. The menu has many options and, based on the quality, it is a good value.
Me and my friend shared the Pizza Rossa, Insalata, Rigatoni, and Flounder - all were outstanding.
The Flounder may be the best piece of fish I’ve enjoyed this year - and I dine out often. It was perfectly crisp with a flawless sear. Chef Mike’s team are pasta artists. They never disappoint.
We enjoyed a glass of Frascati, which was so good it led to another glass.
We ended our meal with a decadent budino and fall gelatos, a pumpkin and a “chef’s surprise.” I’m not at liberty to share the secret. However, it’s fall in a scoop.
Our lunch concluded with deep, dark, and energizing Americanos.
If our lunch wasn’t spectacular enough, we had a visit with Chef Mike, the mastermind, architect, evil genius, behind Aventino, Red Hen, and Fossette’s Foccaceria. All spots I highly recommend. With this good fortune, I’m on my way to play the lottery…
Vegetarian options: There are plenty of appetizers, salads, and pastas. Also, the restaurant will accommodate folks dietary needs.
Dietary restrictions: They will work with their guests.
Parking: There is a garage right off the street, next door to Aventino.

I was at Aventino last night for dinner and the restaurant was packed! My bartender Cody was amazing! She made me a delicious spritz and gave me great food recommendations. I will definitely be coming back again and I hope to sit at the bar to see Cody again in the very near future!
