Ordered drinks only and will not be going back. There was a smell to the place. The ingredients used in the beverage was very poor and normally I don't like putting a low rating unless it is truly unacceptable.

The food was terrible and misrepresented as Malaysian. Do not go here. It is a scam!

The drunken noodles were too soggy and had no flavor. I ordered them with medium spice and I ended up having to add my own spices. The crab Rangoon were huge and pretty tasty. The fried honey banana was delicious and that's the only thing I would get again.

Food was absolutely terrible, me and my boyfriend don’t think this is authentic Chinese food. We ordered pork bun and the bread tasted like cardboard, as for the Singapore noodles we ordered, the beef had hard grizzle that hurt my teeth. The food overall tasted old and made me and my boyfriend sick and vomit. Food also doesn’t look like items shown in picture, must’ve been photoshopped.

For the price I suspect it's gotten along by location and proximity to walkable offices. The food was not impressive, nor was it cheap. There's a older menu outside that had fun options like ostrich on them: this is not the case when you go in. When I went there was just one person working the back, kinda felt bad for him working the back and doing point of sale, alongside an older guy who was handling delivery. But that shouldn't mean you should feel obligated to get mediocre food. Still on the hunt for a cheap and good Chinese food establishment!

One of the worst food I have ever had! Salmon was raw and had a terrible smell to it! Chicken satte were as gross and uncooked as they could be! Tofu preparations were completely tasteless, and smelly! Overall, food quality has gone down from bad to worse! Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I got food poisoning/extremely sick soon after eating food (roti canai with curry, and eggplant with tofu) from Banana Leaves restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland. I called to speak to the restaurant manager the next day (on a Saturday) during their business hours, and the person who answered said the manager was not there and gave me a telephone number to call the manager. I called back an hour later and again was told no one was there (the manager was not there) although the restaurant was open. This was my first time eating food from this restaurant, but the health risk does not seem worth the risk of eating there again.

When Banana Leaves opened in Rockville many years ago, I tried it out. I ordered beef lo-mein--my go-to--& it was so bad that I threw it out. So it took until very recently for me to try the Bethesda branch. I was hoping that a different location would have, hopefully, a better chef. I ordered the mango chicken. It wasn't good. It wasn't bad. But at least it was edible. Unfortunately, I felt sick all day the following day. Was there a correlation? I really don't know. What I did note, however, was that the person doing the preparation/cooking wore no gloves.

The first time we went here, we were turned away. The one guy working there was too busy. The second time we came here, my kid ordered the udon soup. The man was confused. I pointed to it on the menu. He showed me his screen, which showed other soups, but not udon. My kiddo changed the order to ramen (although I had just bought a frozen package of ramen from Costco). The man pulled out a frozen package that looked suspiciously like what I had at home from Costco, and cooked it up with some veggies. We got home and pulled out noodles and this (see pic). This is the most Chinese looking and tasting “ramen” I’ve ever seen. It actually looks like soupy moo goo gai pan. Look, this place needs help, literally. You guys have one guy handling orders and cooking. You have a menu you don’t know, you cook up store-bought food, and you don’t seem to know what you’re doing. I’m sure none of this is news to the owners. I don’t like railing on a small business, but there are too many red flags here. This place is begging to be an episode on one of those reality restaurant makeover shows. Look, get a smaller menu of things you actually can cook, and hire some people.

I thought the Sautéed chicken was really good ( and huge portion).

I mistakenly ordered the curry laksa from this location and because the flavor was completely different than the DC location it prompted me to check the order. In comparison to the DC location the food was not as spiced as it is in DC. This is one of my absolute fav dishes and I'm disappointed in my mistake. This does not taste authentic to me and lacks flavor. Or maybe I ordered too late and I got the leftover soup or it was quickly made but it does not have any flavor The tofu was spongy and watery. Tasted awful. I believe because I ordered so late I got the scraps and I don't like it

One of the best Chinese carry-out foods in the area! Authentic taste with great portions and pricing too.
