I was looking for a place to get some food tonight and considered going to this place at the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda Maryland. Before I did so I went to the men's room to wash my hands I noticed that an employee from this place came out of one of the private stalls after being in there for a while and did not wash his hands but rather took off a glove that he was wearing and tossed it in the trash. This was a younger man with darker skin and what appeared to be either dreadlocks or twists and he wore glasses. Aren't employees supposed to wash their hands before returning to work in the food industry???

I work in the mall. Best place to get healthy food and the best food place in the mall. The food is always good and fresh. The service is outstanding no matter who helps me.

It's sad that I had very high hope for this place, because I recently started to eat less meat knowing how cruel factory farm are and eating less meat can have positive impact on climate, but turns out the food are not so good... We got eden bowl and faux joe burger. Eden was full of veggies and the sauce was great, but I feel like some extra texture is missing since all the veggies are soft. I don't mind a meatless burger doesn't taste like meat, but Faux joe burger taste nothing but soy bean, I might as well cook some tofu at home. Might give it another chance and try something else next time, since there's not much vegetarian fast food places.

John's recommendation for how to eat the chili with lentils was dead on! Best chili I've had, whether meat, veggie or vegan, bar none. It was filling but not heavy. The combination with the rice and the crispy onions was a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The green tea had a light and clean flavor, not bitter at all but not sweet so it didn't clash with the meal. The butterscotch blondie was a sweet end to the meal but again, not over powering. The right texture and flavorful, rich but not too sweet and John offered to warm it up for me which made it that much better. My kids loved it. The name of the place made me wonder but I'm glad I finally sat down to have a bite. Excellent choice if you're looking for some great healthy food that tastes better than the great unhealthy food. So glad they do Grubhub! Eat clean, train dirty.

Wish I had tried it sooner. I have walked by that place confused by the name and the relationship with vegetables. Today I finally stopped to take a look. I was asked if I needed any help and said I was just checking out the menu. Then John came and explained how people make any combination of items to their own tastes and gave detailed recommendations for whatever a person might be in the mood for, cold or hot. Even explained how the burgers are made. I was hesitant to try a couple of items that sounded interesting but then John suggested a custom combination with the chili which sounded good so I went with that. So glad I did. It was awesome! Flavorful chilli, with the rice, the well spiced mayo and the crispy onions...perfect. Not heavy at all, beans cooked right, well seasoned, right texture. Just what I was looking for. Ended the meal with that fantastic butterscotch blondie that John warmed up for me. Again, not heavy and just sweet enough to say I had dessert. Anyone looking for good, fresh, clean flavors that are satisfying without being bulky and not weighing you down with find the right combinations at Beefsteak. East Asian, Indian, American comfort food without the consequences of the traditional recipes but all the flavor is what you'll find there. The costumer service is exceptional, knowledgeable and respectful. I wish there was one closer to where I live but GrubHub and Door Dash will bring it right to my door. All in all, a pleasant surprise!

But at least, when you do, you'd like to rewarded with something that tastes pretty good where you don't feel like you're giving up both the horse and the carriage. Now, Beefsteak is in the Montgomery Mall food court. Confidence in making a healthy decision just went down significantly... I know. It's flanked by Panda Express on one side, and I think the other side is J.Chow's. A soup and sandwich place that is as local as local comes. But, you are literally just steps away from Mcdonalds, Chipotle, Ramen, Sarku Japan, and most dubious of all: Cinnabon. But... do me a favor, actually never mind you probably just did. Stand in the middle of the food court and Yelp the best restaurants. You'll see that Beefsteak is without a doubt one of the highest rated. And that's for a reason. Fresh ingredients, solid portions, solid sauces. I was in Beefsteak last night and I was looking for soup actually. I wanted to bring something hot and prepared to buff our dinner with last night and I went in and timidly asked for a sample of the butternut squash soup. The lady who was helping me was SO nice and not only obliged, she asked if there was anything else I wanted to try. I also got to try their vegan chili and their faux joe (vegan sloppy joe mix) that they had on the bar. Both were pretty good, albeit - I think that the faux joe definitely needed some accompanying flavors (which is exactly what's it is meant to do). I ended up taking home 2 portions of their butternut squash soup which was a good rendition of the fall favorite. Definitely salted mine just a little bit, but overall I and T enjoyed it. I wish you luck in the Mall Madness that is the food court. Just know that if you do decide to stick to your diet and are able to avoid the hall of temptations, you will be handsomely rewarded.

I told the employee making my dish about my gluten allergy (Celiac) and she immediately changed her gloves and told me she's going to make my dish from ingredients not on the line. All without me having to ask. The food is P H E N O M E N A L and the service is awesome at the MoCo Mall Food Court. Thank you!!!!!

This place has some really great vegetarian and vegan options that are both unique, wonderfully tasty, and filling. I say this as a meat-eater. While I wish the location was in a place that was accessible from outside the mall, the service is quick and makes this a great option for a takeaway dinner. I really enjoyed the Faux Joe Burger, the Rice Rice Baby and the Kimchi-wa.
Wonderful and fresh food. It is a little pricey for me and doesn't quite fill me up when I'm really hungry however definitely reasonably priced and insanely fresh

The Frida Kale (with sweet potato). My God. I customize it a bit more but all the yesses for this restaurant. I've been about 10 times but I've never ordered anything else. Yummy fresh juices too like lavender lemonade and (something else green). Heads up: eat it onsite, if possible. Waiting til I got home the very first time I had it almost ruined it for me. Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda has one in the food court. My preferred location, tho Frida ain't on the menu after 3pm.

This was our first time at beefsteak, and it was awesome! We have a lot of dietary restrictions, vegetarian, gluten-free, ingredient sensitivities, and there were so many options for us! The staff was also super nice and helpful! Food was delicious, fresh, and I didn't have to worry about all the allergies. We will definitely be back!! Thanks Beefsteak Dudes!
