The reason I recommend this bar is because the environment, service and facilities of this bar are very good!
I've been a loyal customer of Rock Bottom for years. However, today was the worst night. I was very friendly and polite to the waitress all night, and she was happy with our table. Regarding the bill, I showed her the coupon I got from the Rock Bottom app. She told me it did not work, and she had to run through the manager to make it work. I told her the coupon was still valid and not expired, so when it didn't work, it was Rock Bottom’s issue, and the restaurant should take care of that. She went off and told me that I was f… rude. I requested to speak to the manager. She loudly screamed to the manager that we had a disrespectful attitude to get other people’s attention. When the manager came, we explained the situation, and the manager resolved all the coupon and rewards issues. She came to apologize. I explained to her again that it was not her fault that the coupon didn't work; it was the system. She immediately said I was rude again, so I had to talk to the manager again. For more than 40 years of my life, I've never been cursed by a waiter or waitress because I always treat people with respect. It's not acceptable for a waitress to have that kind of attitude. Everyone has good days and bad days and deserves a second chance. She had her second chance, but she still ruined it. I'm genuinely disappointed. I won't go back to Rock Bottom anytime soon. I wish her the best. With her attitude, she won't make it far, regardless of what she does.
Meh.. Definitely not the best in an area with a lot of great restaurants and bars. It took a while to get drinks. Men’s restroom was flooded upstairs. We ordered fries for the table and they came out soggy in oil. Place had an overall grimy feeling.
My eight year old son and I stopped in for dinner. The ambience was nice and festive. The waitress was friendly and on point. However, the steak meal from the children’s menu (medium well) was awful. It tasted bad flavor wise and may have very well been bad meat. We had to send it back. The waffle fries were hard as rocks, and the burger not so great. My son tried the green sliced apples on the plate. They tasted like they had been marinated in mint. I am still not sure if they were supposed to taste like that. And the uncooked carrots on the plate were browning and dried out. I don’t think I have ever eaten out and decided to not ever go back.
The food was just OK for the price, and the drinks were not that good. Service was a solid C. Too many other options out there to have to eat here again.
Took my family there for an early dinner. Service was so so. Beer tasted great but was not thrilled that I was charged for 12 oz when the beer was mostly head. Do not get the margaritas! Sliders were yummy but everything else was mediocre.
Good food, friendly staff
I was overcharged on my credit card. I have both called and messaged on their website with no response for over a month.
We have been to Rock Bottom on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed the food and the people working there. In fact, I love the place so much that I proposed to my girl friend over dinner there two weeks ago. The servers were as excited as we were. When some friends said that they wanted to take us to dinner tonight to celebrate, we asked them to meet us at Rock Bottom. We all enjoyed ourselves and, as always, the food and our server were fantastic.
Wonderful restaurant and great ambiance! We made day-of reservations and the manager Jarrod was incredibly helpful! Alfonso was our waiter and he was on top of everything. All around a great meal and experience!

good came out fast and hot. less then ten minutes later. service and food was good!
Usually these brewery/restaurants food is about on par with Applebee's so I was not expecting much here. The inside is large and for a Friday night at 7:00 not busy so there was some concern. Our server was great. Was there to make sure we were okay but not obtrusive. I had the Hop Bomb beer and it was very good, nice bitterness and a great smooth taste, not over powering. We ordered our food. I ordered fish tacos after asking our server about them. He said they were great, obviously was a fan. At our table a cheeseburger, steak and chicken tenders filled the order out. The food came fairly quickly but was freshly prepared. All came with the waffle fries that were delicious. Portions were very generous. The fish tacos were very large and there were three of them. I was really surprised at how good they were and would definitely order them again. My wife had the burger, it was huge and prepared exactly how she wanted it. It must have been good because she finished the whole thing! Our friends also enjoyed their meals. Afterwards we did something we normally do not do and order desert. My wife and I shared the brownie and our friends had the carrot cake. These deserts are good for two or even three! Very good. The bill was reasonable. For the tacos, burger, desert, two beer and two 9 oz glasses of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay the base bill was $84. With tip $100.00. Not cheap eats but very good. As far as being empty by the time we lest the bar area was full with 20/30 somethings, they start later then we do.
My spouse and I visited the Bethesda location of Rock Bottom Brewery on a Sunday evening in early December 2019. We had reservations for dinner across the street, but we wanted to have a drink somewhere prior to our meal. Rock Bottom is open daily for lunch dinner, drinks, snacks, and late night. Guests can book a table using the online RESY reservation system. The Bethesda location of Rock Bottom is located at the corner of Norfolk and St. Elmo Avenues in the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood. (We stayed nearby at The Bethesdan [a Hilton property that was formerly called the Doubletree], and it was a short walk from the hotel to the restaurant.) The two-story corner location offers seating slightly below street level (a sort of lift is available for handicapped guests) at a long bar, at padded booths and stand-alone tables, or on the mezzanine (which also offers some pool tables). Since the restaurant brews its own beers (they also sell commercial ones), brewing equipment features prominently. Rock Bottom has 25+ locations in 13+ states. Rock Bottom serves scratch-made pub food, including appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and entrees. Because we were dining elsewhere, we did not sample the food on this visit, but we enjoyed our drinks and time spent at Rock Bottom Brewery.
The kitchen was partially shut down for renovation but we weren't told until we were seated. When we received the menu it was basic items that they were only able to serve. The items we viewed from the online menu were very different. Only sandwiches and some appetizers were available. We ended up leaving. Only wish the restaurant was more upfront online and before being seated that the menu was limited due to the kitchen being renovated. We ended up leaving for a restaurant across the street. Hope to try RBB again when the kitchen is back to working order.
Rock Bottom is one of the better chains. Food is good and you seldom are surprised -- which is what you want from a chain. I also want to give kudos to Melissa, our server. She was excellent. She worked hard, had a great smile and infectious personality. She really was excellent. Very nice Tuesday evening overall.
