California Pizza Kitchen at Bethesda

Haven't been to CPK in years. The overall experience was just okay. The service and atmosphere were great. The dishes we had were just okay, not great and not bad.

Very very disappointed with my most recent visit. I was picking up an order for someone that placed an order at 8 pm. I arrived to the restaurant at 8:50 (estimated time for the food was 8:20) when I went in I was not greeted, and had to wait 5 minutes before someone came to the takeout counter. When I said the name for the order they told me to hold on. As I waited I hear the person telling someone else that they don’t have my order and that it “never came in” another 10 minutes go by and a someone comes over with the drink for my order and says the food should be out soon. The whole time I haven’t gotten an update about anything. Then I saw someone who appeared to be a manager so I asked them why I am waiting for an order that was placed an hour before and the response I got was that the food was made and now they don’t know where it is. Then assured me that the food should be coming out soon. Then he walks over to the cooks and asks them if they’re working on it and the cook says no. I take a seat and 2 minutes later they brought me the food. I get home and take a bite, the pasta is crunchy…. I waited in the restaurant for 20-30 minutes for an order that was placed an hour before and my food was rushed to the point where my pasta was crunchy.

We had a truly exceptional experience, thanks to Sonny, the restaurant manager. From the moment we walked in, Sonny welcomed us like old friends. He remembered us from a past visit — even our preferred table and dietary needs — which made us feel genuinely valued.
There was a small hiccup with one of our dishes, and before we even said anything, Sonny noticed and came over to check in. He immediately resolved the issue with professionalism and grace, had the dish replaced, and even treated us to a complimentary dessert to make up for the inconvenience.
It’s rare to see a manager so attentive, kind, and involved. Sonny sets a tone of warmth and excellence that you can feel in the entire dining experience. We’ll absolutely be back — and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for not just a great meal, but truly outstanding service.

I believe EVERY restaurant should have a hospitality manager greet all guest at some point and Frans did exactly that! From the moment we walked in the service was great. Wendy was our server and her energy was radiant. I watched her wait tables, make drinks, bring out food and she didnt miss a beat. When we tipped her she asked was we sure. Hunny you deserve sooo much more, YOU'RE AMAZING and I hope you see this review. This is how you run a successful business. We drove over an hour and even took a take n bake. I loved how ALL the staff pitched in and helped clean tables. I will DEFINITELY be back and request Wendy each and every time!

Food got soggy and no one helps you. Manager also echoes the same demeanor. Very poor poor customer service skills and training over all. Probably not going to any CPK ever again. Thank this Montgomery Mall location for souring the taste of CPK this bad, you guys deserve an award for that!

We had a fantastic experience at California Pizza Kitchen in Bethesda. The restaurant was very crowded when we arrived, and since we had our baby with us, I wasn’t comfortable sitting in the main area. France, the manager, went above and beyond by kindly opening a closed section in the back just for us. It made our evening so much more enjoyable and relaxing.

Our server, Justin, was also wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

The food was delicious as always! I tried the new steak salad, which was excellent, and we ordered our favorite, the California Club Pizza.

A big thank you to France and Justin for making our visit so special and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back!

$20 for a small, tasteless pizza.

Said order for pick up would be ready at 7:30 but still wasnt ready 20 minutes after that.

I was at curbside pickup and called to see where the order was and was told it wasn't ready. As she was telling me this, it was being walked out. So basically, she was just extremely lazy, which drives me crazy.

They forgot the pepperoni on our sauage pepperoni mushroom pizza... HOW? It's in the name?? Pizza was good, but over priced. Avocado egg rolls were delicious. Kids mac and cheese was bad. Nobody at the table liked it. Wait staff felt new or confused. Left with the impression everyone who works there needs more training.

It was my 4yr old sons graduation dinner and he wanted pizza. We've been dining in various locations from East to West coast for years. From the beginning the server's demeanor wasn't pleasant and we felt rushed (the restaurant was not busy) So much so he forgot one of our appetizers because he just wasn't present.
We received the first course and the food was good (my mom was still waiting for her app though). Or dinner came and the food looked amazing except my garlic pasta, it was so dry there was no way this was how the meal was supposed to be prepared. So I ordered extra sauce and he yelled there was an upcharge for it which was fine smh. The extra sauce came and my pasta came together.
Everyone enjoyed their meal but the dining experience wasn't pleasant.
