They only had 1 person waiting more than 10 tables. They got our orders completely wrong and refused to correct it. We’re very disappointed in our experience. I do NOT recommend the place.

Tried to order and after calling a few times without an answer, someone picked up the phone and left it off the hook. After a few minutes of saying hello? Is anyone there? I hung up. When I tried calling back it just kept getting the busy signal, like the phone was just off the hook. They definitely aren't looking for your business.

"CherCher Cuisine offers an authentic taste of Ethiopia right in Bethesda! From the warm ambiance to the diverse flavors, it's a culinary journey worth taking. The menu boasts traditional dishes like CherCher Special Tibs, Kitfo, Yebeg Wot, and a delightful vegan combo platter. Every bite is packed with rich spices and vibrant colors, transporting you to the heart of Ethiopia. The service is friendly and the portions are generous, making it perfect for sharing with friends and family. Don't miss out on their cold Habesha beer to complement the flavors! ? Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore new cuisines in the DMV area??️"

Great food, friendly service! I went here on a Friday night with my friend that happens to be Ethiopian and she approves.I think on the busier nights it’s probably best to have a reservation. We didn’t have one so they could only accommodate us outside, but it was an unusually warm January night and they do have space heaters so we were comfortable. I would stick to the wine over the cocktails here even though when I said something about my cocktail they made it right and with a smile. I’ll be back!Kid-friendliness: The space is tight but they do have a blackboard wall and chalk for kids which was a really nice touch and the kids that were there seemed to enjoy.

I have been to Cherchers Bethesda four times now. I can't wait to return. The food is superb, something for everyone for dinner or lunch. The atmosphere is intimate and warm. The service is knowledgeable with the right touch. My highest recommendation.

It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was a great experience. The staff made great recommendations, we tried the sampler with honey wine and it was delicious. It was a short wait time, staff were polite and bathroom was clean.

Very strange because I'm incredibly sure that I had left the correct review previously, but I will leave it again. This restaurant was not accommodating. The customer service from the the 20 minutes of wait time only to find out that there wasn't an available table was horrendous. In their attempt to emulate fine dining, they assume that a tiny restaurant filled to the brim with tables is what that equates to. Anyone of a certain caliber (read: skin color) is not welcome there, nor will be accommodated there, as was the attitude by the staff when we attempted to dine.Thankfully there are many other Ethiopian restaurants in the DMV area, I highly suggest choosing one of those. For instance, we simply went to silver spring where there is one on every other corner, and only 15 minutes away from this place.

The management and hosts are very disturbingly biased for it to be 2023. Came into the restaurant and was told that no seating was available and that any empty tables had been already reserved. Hung around a bit and saw a white couple after me told that there was seating. Asked the couple before I left if they had a reservation. They told me no and were surprised to find out that one was required. Looked around the restaurant then and noticed a trend. This is very sad in 2023. The very few black people seated were Ethiopian and the rest of the restaurant was white. If you are West African, Caribbean, or black American-- you're not getting in. Heartbreaking, really.

This place is a joke. I can’t comment on their food because I never received the pick-up order I paid ahead for.I used THEIR ACTUAL WEBSITE (not a third-party app) to place a pick-up order. I was charged and received both an email and text confirmation. When I arrived, they had no idea what I was talking about. According to the woman working, no order had come through for preparation. I presented my receipt and proof of payment, and she got completely flustered and said I must have made a mistake. No, I really didn’t. I ordered on their website, ordered to the correct location, and paid for my food. Perhaps, instead of immediately accusing a customer of making a mistake, she could have taken a moment to review my confirmation and devise an appropriate solution. We had to call a manager since the woman onsite had no authority to do anything. Then why have her working alone if she can’t assist with a routine pick-up order? The manager was equally as unhelpful. She just kept repeating that they don’t use Door Dash anymore. I have no idea how Door Dash came up – I didn’t order through Door Dash. I ordered on their site. If their site redirects or routes orders to Door Dash that isn’t really my fault or problem. It’s an error with their site!My receipt and bank account both said CherCher NOT Door Dash (plus I was picking up – not having anything delivered). To make a long story short, their website glitched, and they were unwilling to accept responsibility or fix the problem. I left with no food, and they didn’t even refund my payment. I had to call and do it through my bank.A complete waste of time and a very frustrating interaction.Mistakes happen, but to immediately blame the customer before fully understanding the issue, to behave unprofessionally, and then to be completely unwilling to resolve an issue that THEIR website created is unacceptable. No one needs this headache when simply trying to pick up food on their way home from work. Avoid ordering on their site. It will glitch, and they won’t have the patience or knowledge to resolve.
