Do not come here for lunch - while they advertise as open, they are ill-prepared to be running a lunch service and their website is inaccurate as to menu offerings. I came in for lunch with my mother and we were already remarking how small the menu, literally a postcard in our hands, was when our waiter came up to let us know they were out of 3 additional items. After scanning the menu and realizing our options were down hot/hearty meals an 88 degree day, we left and went down the street to Black’s. Very disappointing stuff.

Me and my wife stopped in at Duck Duck Goose on 6/28/23 at approximately 8:35pm. They close at 9pm according to their schedule. As we walked in, we were met by a young lady, a member of their waitstaff. We asked if we could get a table for two at which time she asked if we had a reservation. We indicated, no.She replied, " we only take reservations".We noticed however, that there were numerous empty tables. So we went up the street to Mon Ami Gabi. We arrived there at approximately 8:48 pm. We were promptly seated and had a very nice meal. It's been our experience, because we dine out frequently, that even if there is a a short period of time before the establishment closes, they will make a good effort to accommodate you.

Very nice little bistro, but be warned extremely noisy when busy. I had the short ribs and my sister had the scallops. Both were excellent. We had a little trepidation about ordering the guacamole appetizer in a French restaurant, but it was also delicious! I was looking forward to dessert because I saw they had chocolate mousse--my favorite. That was a disappointment, however. It basically tasted like whipped cream with a slight hint of chocolate flavor, and not the super rich chocolate mousse flavor I was craving!

Interesting experience, not all good. Duck Fried Rice came with excellent duck in the fried rice and dry duck on the extra confit piece. Scallops were excellent in a curry style sauce but the accompanying rice was extremely under seasoned, and when added to the curry made the whole dish bland.Croissant bread pudding was almost excellent, with warm outside but cold inside, and creme brule was good but crunchy salt on top was very heavy on one side.Team of servers and bartenders tried very hard but were stretched thin, but they were cordial and tried to take good care of patrons.I'm confident the restaurant would be a 5/5 if the few things leveled up a bit, like the duck confit, more attention to detail (like refilling water) was top of mind, and just more finesse.

Delicious mussels and frites as a first course, Duck confit was meaty with a delicious crisp skin. The Wednesday half-price wine by the bottle was a welcome surprise! Friendly service too.

As someone who lived in france, it’s hard to review french restaurants elsewhere as the bar is simply too high ?The food is a mix of good and miss - certainly cooked by non-french chefs. For the clientele here, if you want something different but not that different, guess it serves the purpose.Especially for the same price, you can have an excellent michelin star restaurant meal anywhere outside of paris in france. So I’m definitely not coming back here but it could work for others

The restaurant is extremely small and loud. My snails were warm and zero flavor. When the dinner arrived it was just warm. I would think twice before making a reservation. Spend your $$$ elsewhere.

7p on a Friday is the worst time to go. It's loud. You have to tell to talk. Can't hear the music. It's overly stuffed. The restaurant inside is tiny and all the tables are right next to each other. Was even told that I could choose a table but when I did they said not that one.Service was great. Thanks, Roxy. Would have liked if they disclosed that the distilled water is $7 instead of making it an option and then getting the surprise when I saw the bill.If you sit at the very back near the kitchen, you can see the food being prepared and waiting to go to the tables.Food is okay, depending on what you get. Mussels are good price and portion with a side of fries for $20. One of the chicken dishes is $28 for bland chicken and questionable liquid that seemed to be just the chicken drippings so it tastes strange. They said 30 min for the chicken to be cooked. Came out earlier.Unless you like duck and don't care about price or the fact that it's crowded and loud, then this restaurant is not that great.

1. Charcuterie board wasn't for me, would pass. 2. I was looking forward to trying the duck bucatini since I was in the mood for spaghetti, but the duck and tomato sauce were too salty. 3. DDG Burger and aoli frites really hit the spot- angus beef, gruyere, foie gras (which made me feel guilty for duck cruelty), and the blueberry jam was a sweet touch. Question is, are you willing to pay $35 for it?

They were the absolute sweetest when I showed up with my mom for a birthday lunch. Made us gorgeous and delicious drinks, food was delicious and brought out some fun sparklers to top it all off. It made us feel very special. Love this place for dinner, drinks, lunch, all the things. Mouth water and lovely hospitality.

Steak was perfect, duck confit was very good. The escargot was ok, but I think the cause of my tummy troubles that night. The La Vie en Rose was really lovely and the waiters were very kind.

What a shame! I am French and this is one of the worse French food experience I had! The only French you have is the price and the name of the dish! Very sad

This was an impressive first visit to DDG in Bethesda. While the restaurant itself seemed very basic and tiny (very limited number of indoor and outdoor tables), the service and food was excellent. The plating was high-end, but we were over-dressed wearing business casual; even the servers were in jeans. For this caliber of food the cost was reasonable to slightly high-- but the overall meal experience was one we are still raving about. The mushroom Gruyère cheese tart was our favorite! Complimentary champagne ended our anniversary meal. Live music during the Bethesda Sweetery and beautiful weather for outdoor seating made this a real winner.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a while. For starters, when my husband and I arrived and ordered drinks, we were asked for IDs. I did not have mine with me but I did have a picture on my phone. After much back and forth over 5 minutes, they determined that they could not serve me. Reader, I am 34 and definitely do not look like I'm in my 20s; I have never been carded anywhere else in Bethesda. We decided we would go elsewhere, but before we could leave, our appetizer came (lightning fast, questionably) - rubbery, watery mozzarella that cost $18. Oh, and there were also multiple house flies buzzing around the windows right where we were eating. In the end, it seems we dodged a bullet by not eating dinner here. I was really looking forward to French bistro food on a lovely summer evening, but Duck Duck Goose does not deliver.
