2.5 stars. My experience was on par with the reviews. The majority of recent reviews were 1-2 stars but there seems be inconsistent food qualify and service; some had great experience. I’ve been here a few times of the years and agree the qualify has gone down, although my sample size is limited. Our ‘toasted’ bagel was burnt, bacon on sandwich for kids was also burnt, the salted bagel was way too salty, and the salmon on the lox was not fresh and sliced too thick....
I'm just going to come out and say it: Georgetown Bagelry is better than Bethesda Bagels. There, I said it. It's true. The crumb, the chew, the perfect crisp, the flavor...these bagels are objectively superior.
I’ve been eating GB for at least 20 years. Service has plummeted. It took 20 minutes for 5 bagels on a slow Monday morning. My order was incorrect. Bagels these days are mediocre. I don’t know what has changed but somebody needs to review their standards. I’m not sure that I’ll go back.
