Delicious, fresh sushi probably the best ive had in maryland so far. very friendly staff plus japanese grocery store is always fun to shop and experience japanese snacks and drinks absolutely love it! Cheap prices too really appreciate that

I hadn't been to this Market since precovid. It was great to visit.The Management/Owners and front staff were helpful and friendly. Very accommodating. There was an hour wait for the sushi order but there are many things to do in Bethesda so we didn't mind. The sushi is worth waiting for, so if you are hungry call ahead. I love there are so many authentic items in this shop. The staff is helpful and assist in finding items or questions about products.This is a jewel of a market in Bethesda.
This is where the local Japanese community gets its carry-out. Check out the other reviews - this is not a fast carry out, and it is quite the experience. Sushi is great. Need I say more?

I was skeptical because who wants carry out sushi? Boy was I wrong. Once I walked in the store I knew it was legit. The "market" is small but has all the essential authentic Japanese grocery items. This place has the best sushi in Bethesda at the best price. Everyone knows it so order in advance. If you snooze, you lose and that's on you not them. I was tempted to rate low to dissuade others from finding out about this hidden gem but that would be unfair to the amazing family running it. Absolutely love Hinata.

Take out only restaurant - very nice people and fresh sushi. They used real crab in the sushi.Rice texture and rice to protein ratio is spot on.They have neat stuff in the grocery area to check out.

Small but jam packed with everything you need from a Japanese grocery store. Carryout sushi is available ; but need to order ahead or wait . They have been in business for 3 decades .. which tells you something . Public parking garage is a few doors down !
I REALLY wanted to try this place! I live around the corner and tried to get sushi carry out 3 times. They either didn't answer the phone or stopped serving sushi 2 hours before closing. The last time I went in and they had stopped taking orders about 2.5 hours before closing, they told me to call. But when I did call (several times) no one answered. They said they are too busy! If you have been a customer for part of their 30 years, they probably treat you better, but for us newcomers, forget it. Such a hassle and I heard them say that they don't want/need new customers. ??♀️

I went in to order the daily sushi special. There was no wait, so it took around 15 minutes to prepare. There's enough groceries, snacks, and daily goods to shop for while you wait. All of the workers were very nice. The daily special was reasonably priced ($16 for about 20 pieces) and tasted better than most sushi places in DC.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian rolls available
