Very good food. There weren't too many people at 2 pm midweek, so the service was fast. I'd go there again.
Gotta love all the clearly labeled and gluten free options! Their GF bread is amazing!!!

Great spot for a get together and food was pretty good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Great service too.
I’ve eaten at this location going all the way back to Hamburger Hamlet so it’s disappointing to write this review but this place blows. First off, it smells like a sewer inside from the minute you enter. Literally like a toilet backed up somewhere. Second, the booths are not clean with tables and seats that are sticky and dirty. The food is consistently bad with clam chowder that is thin as water, items served lukewarm, messy looking plates, etc. This isn’t a one time thing—my family and I have been back many times over the past two months and it’s the same every time. The wait staff are some of the worst trained in the food service industry and are at times rude or neglect tables. Management seems to be running around with their hair on fire just trying to keep the train on the tracks. Don’t even get me started on the condition of the bathrooms. It just sucks all around and unless you enjoy unsanitary conditions, bad food and equally bad service I would avoid this place at all costs. There are so many better restaurants right across the street in the Wildwood shopping center.
This place is very consistent. We have eaten here many times, and the food is always very good. Prices are very reasonable, and the place is usually not too noisy. I had the turkey club sandwich with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious, with enough to take out for another meal later. I highly recommend NYAJ's !
We went for brunch but they have very few brunch options! The chicken sandwich was unique since it used biskets instead of buns and has hot honey sauce which made it tasty, but it fell apart immediately and was smaller than the photos online.

I had a terrific first time experience today. The food was cooked perfectly, my draft beer was delicious, and my server (Luis) was very kind. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

This restaurant has a wonderful ambiance — cozy booths, high bar stools, and flexible seating that make it perfect for casual business dinners, family meals, or gatherings with friends.
The Bloody Mary here is excellent — perfectly balanced, with just the right kick of spice and a refreshing tang.
I highly recommend the Fish and Chips. The fish is tender and flaky on the inside, with a crispy, golden batter on the outside. The fries are flavorful and seasoned just right — not your average side dish!
The Bang Bang Shrimp is also a hit — crispy, slightly spicy, and full of flavor.
The Lava Cake — rich, gooey, and perfectly warm inside. The portion is generous and easily shared by four people.
Overall, a great dining experience — tasty food, a comfortable setting, and definitely worth recommending!

Take out order was less than satisfactory.. the Mac n cheese bbq was horrible, liquid slop. No cheese sauce, a thin milk sauce for $26!?! The Caesar wrap also not worth it. And some of the chicken pieces were inedible. Very mediocre food that is far over priced!!!

Hands down the absolute worst pulled pork Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The fact they call milk and noddles Mac and cheese is mind blowing.

Sadly, our most recent Not Your Average Joe's outing in Bethesda was not very successful. The brunch items were all super greasy, and my mom had to send back her pancakes because they were really gummy and tasted like oil. Usually NYAJ's does better with their food quality so I have to wonder if something was off in the kitchen.
Food was not great- over cooked hamburger, over spiced dishes. Server did not clear all plates- brought the bill before the dessert arrived. Noose level did not allow conversation. Over priced
As someone who works locally I have found this gem of a restuarant and I could not be more satisfied. Some highlights of my last few visits are consistently exciting and delicious monthly specials, incredibly personable staff, extremely accommodating management and just an incredibly sweet and eclectic bar crowd.
