I recently visited Pitango. This charming coffee & gelato is amazing. Mylatte was perfectly crafted—rich and creamy with just the right amount of froth. I paired it with a delicious biscotti that was crunchy and not too sweet, making it the ideal complement. My husband tried the cortado, which was beautifully balanced with strong coffee flavor and silky milk. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for any coffee & Gelato lover! Try the mojito gelato is delicious!
This has now become our spot to get coffee instead of going to Starbucks down the block. This is by far a better choice.

My first experience of Pitango was in Baltimore where I fell in love with their coffee and gelato! I googled and found out there was one close to my house in Bethesda. I was so excited I went into traffic before work to get an iced coffee . The parking situation is definitely not ideal for a coffee shop .. it’s hard to get in and get out quickly, especially before work during rush hour. The coffee is great, super smooth yet flavorful. I get the house made brown sugar syrup in it (unfortunately 2/3 times they did not have it so I tried hazelnut which was not my favorite and caramel which also wasn’t the best). The gelato is to die for- every flavor I have tasted was amazing.

I have never seen a place do so horribly in such a prime location. You could basically sell any mediocre product and people would literally fall in the door by default due to great foot traffic and an affluent community with plenty of extra income to waste.

That said the product is above mediocre but every time I think they have turned it around the revert to a douchey emo drama house ran by cuckoo teens.

Hospitality is absent. Hustle is laughable. Coffee drinks have high quality beans but are unable to pull even a simple espresso shot let alone make any suitable milk foam.

Who wants to wait and watch disrespectful unaware staff try to perform tasks that they obviously haven't been trained to do well by whom ever is trying to lead them. It is painful and not worth the inflated prices.

Then if you want any gelato you have to sit there and watch them take literally 5 mins to put gelato into a cup as if they are doing you some kind of favor by playing around with the product you are going to eat. Then the cant just put the spoon in the gelato and hand it to you, they continue to play around with the gelato some more with the spoon you are going to eat with. It is confusing not amusing and doesn't help the product. This is all after waiting in line just to get a miniscul amount for $8.

Management is clueless and absent on any busy day that I've been there and ever asked to talk to. On slow days they sit on steps or hide in the back as if you are bothering to do their job. Don't know what is going on here but they should leave and let another business take this location.

love this spot - I use it mainly as a WFH space, the ambiance (+ coffee) is great!and the bald guy that works here is the man.I’d honestly hire him if I had a brick & mortar & here’s why : he’s very generous & personable with customers; he’s constantly working / cleaning / moving. Not to throw shade, but other employees will sit on their phone behind the counter when there’s a lull… not him, I’ve never seen him on his phone. Instead, he’ll organize inventory, windex the windows, deep clean .. it’s impressive.
