This was my 3rd visit to Planta--the first two at the DC location, the Queen. I initially raved after my first visit, but my last two visits have left me feeling increasingly ambivalent. First, there is some terrific food to be had at Planta--no doubt--and it is awesome to have an entirely vegan menu--but there are some dishes that can leave one feeling underwhelmed. Additionally, at times, the portions for some plates can seem especially frugal, which at this price point confuses. Both restaurants are slick, modern, cozy, upscale, and service has always been excellent! Will I come back? Absolutely! But I will be choosing more carefully to get the best bite and bang for my buck!

Can’t lie, I’ve never been to a restaurant that doesn’t serve any meat, so I came in genuinely curious and a little unsure. That said, this place went far beyond my expectations. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and incredibly satisfying, I didn’t miss meat for a second. I honestly wish I were exaggerating because I would love to have a restaurant like this in every city. The service was top tier from start to finish: attentive, kind, and welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. You can really tell the staff cares about the experience they’re giving you. (We had a lovely young adult named Daisia). The atmosphere, the food, and the overall intention behind the space made this such a memorable visit. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or someone like me who usually eats meat, this place is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know.

Food quality has gone downhill. Rice for the sushi has a super odd texture. Majority of the menu tasted premade, frozen, and then deep fried. For example, the Bang bang broccoli, my previous go to, is all mush on the inside now.
The server was delightful, but definitely understaffed. No reason for one waiter to serve the entire restaurant during lunch on a Saturday. Felt horrible for the kid.

If you love sushi but always struggle to find options? Then Planta is THE place to go! Amazing vegan sushi is a must but bang bang brocolli, bao, quesadilla were also amazing!
We loved Planta. The food was great and our service was fantastic (thanks Emily!). I think that, for almost everything, we wouldn't have even known it didn't have meat or dairy if no one had told us (or if we had been fooled by the menu). Really good. We did not take the kids but think they would have liked it too. Great food, good price...and no meat!

Planta Bethesda was amazing The food was delicious, the vibe was great, but the real standout was the manager… hands down the sweetest and most genuinely kind manager I’ve encountered in a long time. They made the whole experience feel so welcoming. Can’t wait to come back! Btw this was my first time! Ejaz is the best!

I went to planta for the first time yesterday and I must say that I had a wonderful experience! The food was amazing and service was fast and efficient. Since it was my first time I was a bit confused with the overall menu but the general manager Daniel took his time and explained all the dishes to me! I really appreciated the patience he provided along with his personable attitude.
Also Emily and josh were amazing!! I definitely will be back!
