as a vegetarian , I appreciate that they had sushi & noodles that accomodated my vegetarian diet , and the blueberry & yuzu pie is a great dessert to complete the meal of sushi and noodles I ordered.

A place I visit regularly, about once a month.

Among nearby sushi spots, this is the best place for nigiri. The balance between the sushi rice and the fish is excellent..the thickness and aging of the fish pair perfectly with the rice portion.

I often order the sashimi platter as well, which is always generous in portion. The udon and tempura are also great additions to enjoy alongside the sashimi.

There are just two areas that could be improved. First, using fresh wasabi would better match both the quality and the price point. Second, the front-of-house service could use more attention...each visit, we tend to be left waiting for a while upon arrival, which is a bit disappointing.

I came with my partner on a Friday night around 5:45 and we were seated immediately with no wait, despite no reservation. It does seem like online reservations are easily possible with this place, so it would probably be good to do that. The interior is slightly upscale with a full bar, though the tables and booths don’t look that fancy. Our server took forever to greet us and take our orders, which is the reason for 4 stars. The food we got was delicious and well prepared. Throughout the meal, there were several people who refilled our waters consistently and took plates away. The pricing for the dishes was on the more expensive side, but that’s the reality these days I guess. Good to try once, but I don’t know if I’ll come back.

I had such high hopes for Rakugaki, but unfortunately this was another overpriced Japanese restaurant with just 'okay' sushi. Honestly, for the portion size it was not worth the price and the four of us ordered the bento box combination with the sushi, but we were still left hungry after the meal. The server was nice, the atmosphere was great, parking was so easy but for the cost, just not worth it.

I ordered some sushi and it was excellent. Very fresh the server was a little unattended, but he was busy. It's a cute little place. If you wanna go and have some nice sushi.

We go there every week. The food is very good, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is great too. I find some of the bad reviews quite amusing — like people getting upset for not being allowed to eat their carryout food at the restaurant. If you’re looking for “authentic Japanese sushi” loaded with mayo and strong flavors, made by folks from Fujian Province, China, this place may not meet your expectations.

Food is okay, prices are high. We used to go there because it's convenient. We tipped no less than 20%. But one time there was a table for 6 and we were four. They wouldn't give it to us (there were no reservations.) We settled for pizza. A few minutes later, I passed the restaurant and they seated four white patrons at the table. I feel that they discriminate against Asians and that's all the way up to the manager as we pleaded with the manager for the seats. Anyway too much racism for overpriced mediocre food.

I usually don’t bother to take the time to write about bad dining experiences, but this was just so terrible I had to. I ordered carry-out yesterday and when I came in to get my food, I asked to ensure that there was chopsticks and to go silverware in the bag. The host told me yes and then I walked outside. The outside dining was not full at all and I asked a server if my son and I could eat our food there, and the server told me no, it was for other people (even though there was honestly maybe 3 - 4 tables taken out of I’d say a total of 20). I said I understood, and then we went to in front of Sarah’s to eat. I open up the bags and realize there are no chopsticks or silverware. I go back into the restaurant and tell them this. The host says, okay hold on, and proceeds to take the next guests behind me and seat them. (I literally could’ve just grabbed chopsticks from the bar that were already set out). Then, she comes back and hands me chopsticks, and i told her I also need spoons for our two miso soups. She said, “no you just drink it like this” motioning sipping from a bowl. I was flabbergasted and was like no, most places have spoons and she said well yeah our delivery hasn’t come. And I was just like ok. Now, all this to mention I paid $64 and had included a tip. Also, I’m 8 months pregnant with twins, and look very pregnant. I just am still so upset over the treatment and almost disdain when I simply was asking for help. Food was fine, but definitely not worth being treated like this in the future.

I discovered this restaurant after getting my lashes done at Evalash and decided to give it a try since it’s relatively new. I’m so glad I did! I ordered the spicy kimchee fried rice to go and enjoyed some spring rolls and wine while I waited. The spring rolls came out quickly, were perfectly crisp, and absolutely delicious — I wish I’d ordered extra to take home! But the real standout was the fried rice. Packed with flavor, the kimchee was just right, and the pork belly I chose as my protein made it even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Best Sushi in Rockville/Bethesda area! Super FRESH sushi! Real chunks of fish (no pastey stuff) and consistently delicious every time. I love the crunchy salmon rolls, crunchy tuna rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, and yellowtail rolls. It has indoor and outdoor seating, very charming location. It gets pretty packed so order at least 25 min in advance if you want to carry out and come early to dine in!
