I normally do not do reviews, but these cupcakes need a review. I ordered two vegan chocolate cupcakes. The frosting (Crisco and sugar) was too sweet with a film of grease. The cakes themselves were very dense, dry, too sweet and did not taste like chocolate at all.

This spot has some easy to see vegan options that includes muffins, cupcakes and a black bean brownie. Service is great too.

What a great experience looking for custom baked goods. I was able to contact the bakery to ask if they would be able to do specific writing on cupcakes. They even have keto recipes for those needing that. Very accommodating and great communication for my pickup. Great experience overall and highly recommend looking here for your baked needs.

I cannot praise this bakery and their service highly enough. First, cupcakes were great--flavorful and moist, and the chocolate was especially fudgy. But what was really outstanding was the service. I ordered birthday cupcakes to be delivered to my daughter on the University of Maryland campus, putting in the order online a few weeks ago. The owner Jaimie reached out the same day, and we finalized the details and were good to go. Fast forward to the birthday, and Jaimie sent me texts with photos, and a link to the delivery service. My daughter reaches her dorm and no cupcakes--turns out they were stolen outside the dorm, where the delivery service had left them. I reached out to Jaimie, and within 20 minutes she had another dozen en route to a DIFFERENT location where my daughter would be in the evening, all to make sure she had the cupcakes on her birthday. She made things right even though she was in no way responsible for a greedy college student taking what wasn't theirs. Truly outstanding.

I'm lucky, my husband Nat has known Jaimie for over a decade! They first met at a cafe in Northern Montgomery County where Nat was working. I remember meeting Jaimie at a show my husband was performing in when we were first dating, and Jaimie was super kind! We were so excited to learn she was thinking of opening a bakery in Bethesda, and we have been fans ever since! Jaimie was one of our main go to custom bakers during the pandemic when we wanted to support small, local businesses--and also enjoy the life that was still to be celebrated. We got a bunch of Father's Day, birthday, Mother's Day cakes from The Red Bandana Bakery. We have since moved to NYC, but we were in town recently to visit my sick Dad in the hospital and our hotel was literally a few doors down from the bakery! We were so happy to be able to support Jaimie and company again! We had great lattes and our young son enjoyed his steamer. We loved the cinnamon roll and a bonfire brownie! So yummy! And, I'm still so impressed by how reasonable their prices still are in this ever changing economy! Thank you!

I got a birthday cake for my boyfriend and I LOVE how it turned out but also I love how affordable it was. Check out the pic! I got the candles from them too! The cake was huge and all together with the chrome candles it was $110. A steal in my opinion.

Had great experience in this bakery w/Rockville Vegans for two different events, Matzah Pizza and the Cake Decorating Competition! The food is all gluten free and items that are vegan as well as dairy free are each marked in different colors on the menu which is very helpful for different dietary restrictions. Jamie, the owner, is very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend!

When you’re trying to celebrate a vegan friend’s birthday—especially from out of town and at the last minute—it can be tough to find a bakery that checks all the boxes. Enter The Red Bandana Bakery!

Although I’ve never visited in person, I took a chance based on their great online reviews, and I’m so glad I did. I needed a vegan birthday cake delivered same-day in DC, and Jaime could not have been more helpful. She responded quickly, was super kind and accommodating, and made the whole process incredibly easy. Within just a few hours of placing my order, a custom-decorated cake (complete with a kidney and a set of dice!) was delivered right on time—and my friend absolutely loved it. He said it tasted amazing, too!

I can't wait to visit The Red Bandana Bakery in person the next time I'm in DC. Outstanding service, delicious treats, and the kind of customer care that makes you feel like a regular—even from afar. Highly recommend!

Red Bandana has a good selection of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan baked goods, and amazing custom made cakes. The gluten-free muffins were slightly dry, but had a very good rise, which is unusual for gluten-free items. The ancient grain bread had a lot of whole grains, which may be to some people’s taste but was a bit too many for us. Next time we are in the area we will certainly buy more.

Red Bandana provided delicious gluten-free pastries for our wedding in Northern Virginia. We had a specific need to keep the entire menu gluten-free since the bride had celiac’s disease. Additionally, we wanted a cake for cutting, but wanted to have a different pastry as our main dessert. When we went into the bakery for our tasting, Jaimie Mertz guided us through all of our options including different cake and icing flavor combinations, as well as their full selection of pastries. Red Bandana provided everything we needed including a massive table display of gluten-free cinnamon rolls surrounding our cutting cake. They delivered everything exactly how we wanted it on the day of the wedding and coordinated with our wedding planner so that we did not need to worry about it. It made us so happy to serve delicious gluten-free desserts at our wedding and we would definitely recommend Red Bandana Bakery’s catering.
