I ordered a plant based meal on 08/12 through the Tropical Smoothie website to receive a call that there was no plant based meat. So, that means your website is not updated. Okay. I asked for a refund and the guy told me I had to call corporate (this has happened to me before but I thought they might’ve updated their website and processes).
I call corporate just for them to tell me they’ll send a email to the manager of that store to request one and they will get it with 15 min (doesn’t really help if the manager isn’t there which is why I couldn’t get a refund right away in the first place).
A day goes by and I haven’t heard anything so I call this morning, 8/14 and ask to speak with the manager. Once again he is not there. I ask if there was any supervisor or duty and the lady tells me no. At this point I’m annoyed so I ask if there is only one person in the store designated to give refunds and she replies yes. I ask for someone’s contact information and then she literally passed the phone to someone else and they both begin giggling. The girl who answered had to gather her composure and I could hear them both just continuing to laugh. She tells me the girl had to deal with something and had to go. How unprofessional is that? The new lady on the phone is now telling me that I have to call the Bethesda store to speak with the manager, who is Iglicio, if I want to get in contact with him.
I call and he’s not there just to get a lady to simply say, “Hello.” I was taken aback and had to check if I had the right number. When I asked if this was Tropical Smoothie, with an attitude she goes, “Uh, yeah.” Who are you all hiring?!
This is highly unacceptable to me. Corporate can’t tell me when I’m gonna receive a refund because they don’t have contact with the stores. They can only send request. What is the point of corporate, then? And I should not have to track someone down just to receive a refund when the site wasn’t update. I would’ve never ordered and gone through this AGAIN.
I am highly disappointed in Tropical Smoothie and livid you employ people who think it’s okay to pass phones and then laugh while customers are asking for refunds and to speak to a manager. Please know that you have loss a customer and I will be advising everyone I know to never order from any of your establishment again. This experience has been frustrating, the customer service has been horrible, and it makes no sense you all don’t have a central way to give customers refunds. Highly disappointed.

I had a great experience at Tropical Smoothie Cafe thanks to Xavi’s outstanding customer service. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure my order was exactly right. The atmosphere felt welcoming, and Xavi’s positive attitude really added to the experience. It’s clear they care about making customers feel appreciated, and it definitely made me want to come back again.

My family and I stop by tropical smoothie a ton! We love to grab a quite bite, but we especially love the staff! Lourdes and Tania are always so friendly and helpful!

Adding this to my list of declining restaurants in Bethesda.
The one good sandwich, the chicken pesto, used to have a balsamic vinaigrette on it that made the sandwich. They for some unknown reason removed it. Don’t even carry it in the store so you can’t get it at all.
Smoothies aren’t the best in Bethesda and the food is airplane-esk, a step below Panera which is also airplane-esk food.
If you want a sandwich and smoothie, go to the Potbelly next to the tropical smoothie for the sandwich and the smoothie king a block away.

If a zero or negative was possible, I would give that since 1 star seems too nice. I placed an in person order yesterday and had too many issues! I asked for a substitution and was charged for an additional add on that was NOT what I ask for (i.e. substitute orange juice for kiwi juice NOT remove orange juice and add kiwi). The staff was moving out of order and completed orders for pick up orders as they came in and pushed in person purchases behind. 40 minutes passed and still no smoothie so I asked for a refund and they said they couldn’t do it without a manager and the manager wasn’t there. They also said they would have to call for the manager, but no one did. They said the manger number is on the paper at the register so I called and email to unfortunately find out that was an applicants phone number. Less than 24 hours later and I still have not received my smoothie nor a refund since staff didn’t even try to reach out to the manager. Please assist ASAP as I have a pic of my receipt and the staff in store yesterday! You can even duck the cameras for a 4:17 pm order and watch the camera from there. Side note: they tried to make the smoothie afterwards but my window for eating was now gone FORTY MINUTES LATER. I personally wouldn’t recommend this location at all, especially if the manager isn’t there and if they do not follow orders as they come in.

From visiting locations across the country, I can honestly & sincerely say the consistency is by far superior to most other franchises in the food industry
I have never been a smoothie person. But this restaurant has changed my perception on smoothies. As a meal and as a drink to go along with a delicious, fresh wrap or flatbread!

Got the acai berry boost with extra acai and a PB banana with almond flatbread . Everything was wonderful. Loved the smoothie just the right flavor I was looking for . 🙂

The manager doesn’t come in until after 12.
My order gets delivered to the wrong address or is wrong over all and THEY NEVER give refunds. Instead they say we will remake it and have it delivered but NEVER DO. I am owed 3 meals totaling $20-$40, ridiculous

If I could show you the picture of my wrap, you wouldn’t want to eat here. No meat in the wrap, old lettuce, drenched in dressing. I had to ask her for my chips also.
Wraps over sauced. Quesadilla are undercooked. I have been ordering here for months cause I like the smoothies and the other locations have been to are solid with food. Not here.

I wouldn’t recommend ordering delivery from this place. The last two times I have ordered from them there has been something wrong with my order. The first time they left out an item that I paid for. The second time they delivered the wrong sandwich and even on my delivery label, my order was correct.
