I've driven past this place a few times and the smoker was always lit?. So, I had some time today and stopped in for a bite. I ordered the bbq ribs (comes in different flavors), collard greens, and plantains. I also ordered the 2-piece catfish, which the guy assured me was good. He hyped it.
The catfish was not good. It was actually 1-piece cut in half to make two, loads of parsley, and lemon slices. It was fried and cooked to perfection; however, it was not seasoned. I didn't even taste salt and pepper. I took my order to go, so when I got home, I added hot sauce and tarter sauce from my fridge. I suffered through it bc it was $8.99.
Moving on, I opened the greens and tons of juice spilled all over. Once I cleaned the counter, I took a bite and was immediately disappointed ?. All I tasted was vinegar and sugar! No self-respecting Southerner puts sugar in their greens!! Trashed it ?.
Next, ribs. They were okay. Tender but just okay. They didn't taste like they came from off the smoker but the oven, and the sauce was okay. I could tell the ribs were not seasoned nor was the sauce. I ate 3 little bite size ones and called it a day.
Lastly, the plantains. Those were good. I ate those and kept it moving. . . . Not worth the money, and was kicking myself for feeling as though I had wasted it.
The restroom was dirty, and the place had flies. I was kind of glad I wasn't eating there.
All-in-all, 3/10, 2 for food, and 1 for the friendly staff (who bamboozled me into thinking the food was dynamite ?).

Tasty and amazing are 2 words that come to mind while and after eating from here!! The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere were comfortable.The food seasoned just right. My wife and I are sure to visit again soon.💯💯

Customer service is exceptional - the young lady at the register acknowledged me when I walked in and told me she’s be right with me. I ordered the bbq ribs and Mac n cheese and coleslaw and a half smoked. Everyone was friendly and I liked the atmosphere. I’ll definitely go back as I can’t imagine the food will be nothing but also exceptional. Jasz

There were random up-charges on an already expensive meal.. and the food just wasn’t great. It also really messed with my stomach, not sure as to the safety of it. The highlight of the meal is the zoba ginger tea they had, that was good and I’d get it again. Other than that everything was overpriced and replaceable.

Very disappointed. I stopped pass the Glendale fire station today to get some food. The skin on the chicken was not edible. It was burned . The chicken tasted like lighter fluid. I spend $30 and I’m still hungry. I would like a refund

This place might be a hit or miss because one time i stop by here and it was 5 starts. I order on uber eats andnit is 2. My half smoke was burnt and not the good burnt we like, potato salad is nasty just pure mayo, Suya was just spicy not flavor. But the ribs, they had a nice smoked flavor but they went tender and had a lot of fat. Maybe it is better later in the day. Im willing to try one more time.

I really enjoy the sides. The Mac and cheese was delightful, I loved the plantains, and the coleslaw was very refreshing. The service was so amazing and surprisingly quick.

I stumbled upon this gem. The smoker was going and I had to check it out. I got a quarter smoked chicken with greens and macaroni and cheese and some mini sweet potato pies and EVERYTHING was so good! The chicken was tender and delicious, the greens were also tender and flavorful and the portion sizes are definitely worth it. Great customer service as well. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend!

Overall great experience, customer service is good and the food is good as well. Everything on the menu is good but I’d saw the proteins are a little bit dry but the flavor makes up for it, if the proteins could be a lil juicier and more tender it would have had a 5 star.
