Getti's Island Spyce Restaurant & Lounge

I have eaten traditional Jamaican food for over 50 years and this place does not have traditional Jamaican food. I gave it a second chance (since they are close), but the food still has no taste, plus the rice and peas are mushy. I tried Ramoun's kitchen next to Harris Teeter and their food is traditional Jamaican food. I will be going back to Ramoun's kitchen from now on even though the drive is longer.

Definitely did not know what to expect, but their food is simply amazing. I sampled only the curry goat and the curry chicken patties. WOW!

The curry goat was perfect - flavorful with some heat. Authentic taste. Allspice berries in the curry. Very tasty.

The curry chicken patties were so good, I am now wanting more than the three I took home.

Definitely will return in the future.

Having eaten at roadside stands in rural Jamaica, Getti's serves up very similar food.

Absolutely loved it.

Next time, I hope they have the ginger drops.

Selling old spoiled cold fatty oxtails is not nice! My toilet is not happy today….I could have sat down at longhorn for same price also. As a Jamaican myself, i can say this is below standard…..

Went there one time ... never again. They were out of everything we ordered . we started with oxtails then we went to curry chicken then we went to jerk chicken wings. I gave up once I saw roaches crawling across the counter got my money back and walked out

The worst!!! Always Jamaicans. Food is average at best. And Americans don’t know any better. The service is deplorable. Only saving grace is the setting to be honest. Do better

I had the curry chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. The meal had decent flavor and lots of rice and peas but unfortunately the curry chicken was mostly bones and there was just a few strands of cabbage. I would recommend this restaurant if you enjoy meals that are a choking hazard.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS SPOT. This place is a perfect example of how POOR customer service changes everything. I liked the food but can't deal with poor customer service. My last 3 visits were the worst. First, I have literally stood at the counter while a staff member ignored me to talk on the phone. Next, I called to order roti and once I got there I was told they didn't have any. The last incident yesterday was it for me. Once again, I called to order roti, get there and told they are out.
HINT: Learn how to use a phone to call the customer back to explain the dish is not available. The idiot at the counter said I tried to call, but your number wouldn't dial back. He then shows me the phone with my number and no area code. I guess they don't know how to fix the phone settings to include the area code.
Each time, I never received an apology, they never said how can we fix the problem by offering a discount or another dish. They rudely tell you we can't help you then walk away. This is the reason they will go out of business soon because they don't know how to treat customers. I see why there rating is lower than other Caribbean restaurants. I'll never go there again.

Sour soup juice tasted like a**. They are overpriced and not good .

Im not sure why has happened to this place but I went twice within the last month and I have been disappointed both times. I ordered stewed chicken today and it tore my stomach up! The chicken tasted old, reheated, state and tough. It was not fresh. I had such bad heartburn that I could only finish about 1/4 and I had a large because I was hoping it would be good. The cabbage was good and so was the rice, hence the reason for the two stars.

2 days in a row with two delivery orders both canceled after waiting 2 hours for the food. They unfortunately can’t produce a product to be delivered in a timely manor. Never again.

This was my first time here and it was amazing . I had the small jerk chicken with cabbage, rice and plantains and o. M. G. I couldn't stop shoveling it in it was so good. They also had karaoke and AD j, and that was great as well. Everybody was having a good time. The party was on the atmosphere was on the food was on point. I will be back

This review is only for 6-11-2024. This is my go to place for Jamaican food; however, I was so disappointed yesterday. I had a taste for Brown Stew Chicken and I knew exactly where to go. I visited the restaurant and placed two orders, one for me and the other for my mom. Needless to say, we were both quite disappointed. The food was awful; no taste except an old taste. We threw it out. I will not give up because this place has only fail me once and that was yesterday. I'll visit again in a few weeks at a different time. Maybe I'll get a different chef.
