Visiting family in town, decided to stop for some soul food prior to heading back out of town. Glad no one was behind me because I was undecided with all the choices. Then stepped in super server extraordinaire Maleah. She didn't try to rush me or stand there impatiently waiting for me to order, she took her time and explained to me what everything was and gave her input/recommendations. Truly one of the most polite and personable servers I've experienced in a long time. I feel she went above and beyond with making me feel comfortable. She recommended the meatloaf and collards... My compliments to the chef. Food was good just I'd come back just for the service. Thank you Maleah for making my experience here memorable.

I visited the Brandywine, Maryland location and while eating my food, I noticed that there was paper mixed in with it. This was very concerning and unpleasant. I wanted to bring this to your attention so it can be addressed to prevent this from happening to someone else.

The food has changed a little. The Mac & cheese needs more macaroni. Toooo much cheese, cheese & macaroni. I ordered 3 wings & 2 sides. I was trying to tell her to put 1 side with the wings but she did what she wanted. The person taking my order didn't cancel my original order from the kitchen & the cashier was waiting for food. Lastly, I didn't here any welcoming announcements as usual.

The food was good and that can not be denied, but the veggie platter portions was horrific. I say horrific becuase I'm used to my normal heaping portions for my sides, as with a normal meat platter. So why give 3 small containers of veggies for a Veggie Platter 🤔. Just because we are asking for veggies doesn't mean we are asking for Carolina Kitchen to downgrade our portions to eat, SMH. For the price we pay for those 3 small containers it just doesn't equate.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent purchase of your Salmon Salad, which I ordered based on the menu description stating it was “salmon on top of a garden salad.”
What I received does not align with that description nor with reasonable customer expectations for a garden salad—particularly at a price point of $26. The salad consisted almost entirely of chopped iceberg lettuce, a single cherry tomato cut in half, and a piece of salmon. There were no additional vegetables typically associated with a garden salad (such as cucumbers, carrots, onions, peppers, or mixed greens).
A garden salad, by definition and common understanding, includes a variety of fresh vegetables—not just lettuce and one tomato. The presentation and portion were extremely underwhelming and felt misleading given the menu wording and cost.

The server dropped the whole pan of Mac N Cheese in contaminated water. Instead of throwing it away. Her other Co-Worker wrapped it up and put it away. After she told her what happened. That's disgusting. Which means they reused that same tray later.

Today is December 19, 2025. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by what I witnessed at this location today.
Between approximately 3:30–3:45 PM, the employee working at the front of the serving line (near the mashed potatoes, jerk chicken, and rice) dropped a piece of fried chicken. Instead of discarding it, this same employee placed the fried chicken back on the counter and attempted to serve it to the customer in front of me. The customer refused it. The employee then placed the dropped fried chicken into a pan behind the counter, appearing as though it would be thrown away but it was not. Later, the same employee placed that same piece of fried chicken back with the rest of the food.
The same employee also went to the potato salad station and used ice from that area to clean her gloved hands, then returned the ice directly back into the area where the potato salad is kept. This behavior is extremely unsanitary and unacceptable.
I have been a customer here for years, and unfortunately this location seems to fluctuate depending on management. Today’s experience was alarming and unhealthy. I attempted to call the restaurant multiple times afterward to speak with a supervisor, but no one answered the phone.
I did not raise the issue while inside the restaurant because situations like this can escalate unnecessarily. However, I truly hope management reviews the cameras from this time frame and addresses this immediately. This is not just unprofessional it is a serious health concern. I would hate for someone to become ill due to such careless and unsafe practices.
This location needs immediate attention and stronger food safety oversight.
Also, the glass counter top above the food is very dusty and always is. They need to keep that area clean

Man, it’s crazy that the food at the Brandywine location wasn’t that good. Normally when my family goes there, we really enjoy the food, but the greens this time were terrible. We usually order a double portion, and I’m honestly glad we didn’t. They were overcooked, soggy, and just didn’t taste right at all. Since we were already home, they ended up getting thrown away. Hopefully, the Capitol Heights location does a better job.
