I tried to call in my order several time on my way home. The call went straight to voice mail several time. I arrive at the Brandywine Location (no customers) and had to wait 15-20 min for my order. When the order came out it was wrong. Not only did have to pay an additional cost for noodles, I had to wait another 10 min in a hot establishment. It was very hot while I waited. This is definitely not a walking establishment. Go online to order sine no one answers the phone

Phone always goes to voicemail, rarely pickup and it’s difficult ordering online. “Currently not taking orders” appears frequently. I enjoy the food but the challenge of ordering mad me stop eating here. (BRANDYWINE LOCATION)

Something happened… it used to be so good and so consistent. Our order tonight was TERRIBLE. Everything leaking, old curried cabbage, overdone mac n cheese, horrible packaging.

Walked in at 7pm.. and the thermostat read 90 degrees… I saw 4 fans that hadn’t been cleaned in EVER… waited and waited… finally a staff member shows up, well walked thru while texting… I literally had to ask was they open….. she said brb…… a few minutes later.. a young man comes out… I asked for curry chicken…. No chicken today.. ??‍♀️ I stood in there almost 15 minutes for no chicken… thank goodness for small favors because it definitely wasn’t the cleanest place I’ve seen

It was just okay. It was ridiculously hot inside, however the customer service was great. I ordered the chicken quesadilla; it was supposed to come with chips as the menu stated, however it didn’t come with anything. The quesadilla itself was good and a pretty decent size. Maybe I’ll try the one in Laurel because this location just wasn’t appealing.

First timer and here are my thoughts.

Service was great—only saw one staff member but they were very nice while picking up my order.

Atmosphere: I didn’t dine in and likely never will because it was BLAZING hot in there—very unpleasant for the 5 minutes I waited. It was a 94 degree day and it felt hotter in there than outside. Based on the reviews, this is normally how it is. However, the restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated.

Food: I ordered the jerk chicken tacos and they were DEEE-licious! The jerk seasoning plus the (i’m guessing) jalapeño sauce that came with it made this a HELLA spicy meal and I loved it.
The only draw back was some of my chicken pieces seemed to be dried out but I took them out, it didn’t ruin my meal overall.

I would give this place another try.

One last thought: I don’t know why people keep saying “fine dining” on these other reviews. It’s a local restaurant similar to levels of Carolina Kitchen and Indish Exotic. Much better than fast food and I’m happy to have other takeout options.

The folks who run this place set their prices as they see fit which you are able to review before placing your order. You either pay the prices or you don’t—why complain? Everything is “high” these days and they seemed to be appropriately priced compared to other places at the same level.

Mad Cows has truly outdone itself with their unforgettable braised oxtails. This dish is a testament to the culinary expertise and passion for flavor that the restaurant is known for.

From the first bite, the oxtails are tender and fall-off-the-bone, perfectly braised in a rich and savory sauce that marries a hint of sweetness with deep, robust spices. The slow-cooking process has imbued the meat with an incredible depth of flavor, making each bite a delightful experience.

The accompanying side of rice and peas is the perfect complement. The rice is fluffy and well-seasoned, with the peas adding a subtle earthiness that pairs beautifully with the oxtails. The plantains are a standout as well – caramelized to perfection, with a sweet and slightly crispy exterior that contrasts wonderfully with the soft, warm interior.

The portion size is generous, ensuring that you leave fully satisfied. The presentation is also noteworthy, with a vibrant and appetizing arrangement that makes the dish as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the palate.

Overall, Mad Cows’ braised oxtails with rice and peas and plantains is a must-try. It’s a dish that captures the essence of comfort food while delivering a gourmet experience. Highly recommended!

Parking: There there’s more than enough parking spaces available at this location.

Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a ramp just before the entrance.

Used to be a great place for food however for the last 2 times I have ordered my usual order! Rasta pasta and both the times there were bones in my pasta! And the customer service was horrible!

We usually WON'T eat in a place that's dark and HOT, 90 degrees to be exact per their thermostat! But the reviews convinced us to try it, let's star with the young man that took our order, didn't greed, just nodded his head, pin pad was FILTHY, it looked liked it hasn't been cleaned since they opened, I mentioned it to the young man, he thought it was funny! I had the " Unforgettable Ox tail " yeah, I will never forget how I paid $25 for something that didn't taste like anything other than SALT, I think I ate 1 piece, the rest went in the trash! I LOVE to eat, but I couldn't stomach that, my daughter and husband had the curried shrimp, smh, maybe 4-5 small shrimps that didn't taste curried at all, rice tasted like boxed 5min rice, mashed spinach that obviously came from a can or a frozen box! I'm still mad for having WASTED $75 on food we ended up throwing away! First and last time we ever go there! My taste buds know what Jamaican food should taste like and trust me that's far from tasting like anything let along Jamaican!
