First time there. The food was very good. My only issue eggs weren't cooked like I asked. My husband said his mushroom and Swiss burger was delicious.

There is nothing special about this place. My wife and I visited the diner before going to H.F. and we've read that they have amazing cinnamon rolls, and that's a big negative. The breakfast I've ordered was ok at best, and the wife was fairly disappointed in her meal. Maybe the diner was having a rough day because we were the only customers in there. The diner is charming, but everything was just ok. If you want refill on your drink, you have to get their attention because it felt as we were ignored due to low customer volume. No return visit from us.

I had a cheeseburger that had no taste. Chili was terrible. My husband's meatloaf was just okay. His side of vegetables were clearly made from frozen veggies & not fresh. Only thing we liked were the tator tots. The waitress was very attentive. I would not recommend eating here.

Food was edable. Guys working were good. As far as calling this a " diner" I'd say more like an overpriced waffle house . Also the QR code menus system is goofy and cringe. This is a diner not a gastropub in DC. The menu and pay system are overly complicated and pointless

It's a diner. I ordered the sunshine skillet for breakfast and it came in a ceramic dish, The food was good, the service was good. The price was expensive fifteen dollars for a sunshine skillet and a cup of coffee.

If you want a “Fast-food”, go to McDonald or Bk. If you want a chilled laid back experience, come to Penny’s. Food was great and the service was exceptional: our server Jessica was just a sweetheart, very attentive and friendly. See pics for what we ordered. And don’t forget that apple pie ice cream dessert.

this is literally the first instance i’ve ever wished there was a 0 star rating! normally i roll my eyes when someone posts that in a review but never again will i think they’re over exaggerating! i had seen so many negative reviews of this particular location in local facebook group, but thought they may have been too harsh and decided to try it out! BIG MISTAKE! not only was the food burnt, they also forgot the gravy to the mashed potatoes & gravy, and they also forgot the dip for the french dip! $12 for just a sandwich when it should have came with broth! when we called to let them know, we were greeted with joe BLAMING US! “well YOU ordered lunch and dinner items during breakfast” this was our first ever time ordering from penny’s diner and we unfortunately will not be returning after this disappointing response. we told joe we had not ordered here before nor were we told we couldn’t order lunch or dinner items at that time or that they would be missing items included if we did and his response was that the site never says it. no solutions were offered. no apology for the inconvenience, literally nothing. we ended up finally asking for the missing items to be refunded were given a response of “if you want i can heat up some gravy” absolutely awful customer experience that i would hope does not reflect pennys diner as a whole.
