Extremely friendly/humor, casual attire, fast service, fresh food, and reasonable prices....
Foods always great! Perfect for a Friday pizza night or date night.
Delicious food and great service. Massive portions and very understanding about dining with large party including a toddler with dietary restrictions.
Dietary restrictions: Brought bread without cheese for dairy-free toddler.

The real deal, I tried every Italian restaurant in Northern VA, and sadly, for them, nothing can compare the flavor and authenticity of carmela's, Italian food is one of my favorite in the world, I was raised with the authentic flavors of Italian cuisine, all the women's in my family love to cook including me, So I know the amount of love and dedication this people put in this restaurant, cozzy environment, kind customer service, for sure We'll be back to Cambridge and carmela's is going to be, probably number one excuse hahaha much love and appreciation, and I can't wait to be back ❤️ Grazie mille

This is a fantastic tiny little freestanding authentic Italian restaurant run by a husband and wife team in the super quaint Maritime town of Cambridge. I'd like to say I discovered it myself, but actually I just googled best Italian restaurant near me and it came up. So everybody locally already knows it's a great place. It's a very fun cozy little restaurant to eat in. There are just two small rooms with nice wooden tables and beautiful casual Italian decorations with black and white checkered curtains and heavy natural wood tables. You can see the cooks cooking in the kitchen. They do a large carryout business also and that action is going on on the side. Our waitress Reese was super friendly and very skilled. She made great recommendations in terms of what to choose and also how to split it up. Obviously, we had a lot of leftovers and Reese very nicely wrapped them up for us in cardboard boxes and then a nice quilted carrying bag. The portions are absolutely enormous and she was very helpful in telling us how many people to split each dish with. The antipasto salad was delicious. The cheese and meats were rolled and sliced very thinly, which gave them a nice texture. The sweet pickled peppers were delicious on the antipasto. I ordered the eggplant rollatini which I have never even heard of. It was absolutely delicious. Eggplant rolled with ricotta, spinach, and mozzarella with a tomato sauce over it. My mother ordered the crab spaghetti which she said was delicious. My brother-in-law got the pasta classico with shrimp, which he loved. We shared a nice bottle of Chianti, and for dessert we had freshly made cannolis which were absolute perfection. So if you're looking for a great place for a family meal or a nice romantic date, fairly casual and moderately priced, this is your place. I only wish it was in my home town .

Carmela’s was such a gem to find! Traveling through on our way to Ocean City, stopped in just after they opened, couldn’t be happier… well I could if I lived closer and could have it more often. Seriously, the food tasted so fresh and authentic. We got spaghetti with meatballs and Nola Penne. Portions were amazing, good price, excellent service. Staff were friendly and personable. Establishment was clean. Everything was more than great. I can’t stop talking about how good the pasta was, I was sending pictures to my family at home raving about it. It’s a must try!! Ingredients all tasted so fresh. I wish I could give them 100 stars.

Absolute hidden gem:no frills on the outside but the food is spectacular. Service is solid and prompt. Everything tastes homemade in the best way…like generational recipes are being used with the tastiest ingredients. Even the simple house salad is ultra fresh with chunky local tomatoes in season. Seafood pasta was well seasoned and loaded with fresh crabmeat in the red sauce. Chicken Marsala was one of the best versions I’ve tasted. Portions were good and prices reasonable too. Definitely worth a stop in Cambridge! It’s not big inside so it may get too booked up during prime hours I imagine.

We’ve been to Camela’s many times, and webs always left happy. My kids always get the bolognese, but we’ve also gotten pizza, chicken parm, and lasagna, and it’s all been delicious. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are huge, and Reece is one of the hardest working servers anywhere, always with a smile. Be prepared for leftovers! Oh, and if you go in the fall, ask if they have bread pudding. You won’t be disappointed.
