Kool Ice is a great place to get the best seafood... we come all the way from West Virginia (about a 4 hour drive one way) and it is SO WORTH every hour!

Always have best prices on seafood most of the time when I call.Blue crabs are good and fat in most cases ,white fish is good also, snow crab legs & king crab legs are on the high side but they have them when some don't and are big in size.Well worth the drive to get your seafood.

Purchased three bushels of # 1 male sreamed crabs. Were not good!! Zero fat, many mushy and small and light weight. Would not buy again at any price.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to take a moment to shout out this market/store. I think the customer service is super positive and the quality of seafood is so good. The price is also fairly competitive.
It’s rare these days to find local seafood market that has a positive atmosphere and good food.

I've been a customer here for over 40 years. It's an hour drive for us but was always worth it for one reason. The quality and freshness of their products. Price never played into it. Over the last couple years I've noticed a steady decline in the fish quality and most recently the crabs and oysters. The boxed live crabs I purchased in September werent close to a full bushel. Was likely sorted just prior and by the time I got home had settled. 31 lbs of live crabs, not even close to 40. We bought a bushel of #1s Steamed in October. Likely a mix of several different days catch. Some fine, some soggy, and some outright dead and smelling of ammonia. Same thing with a bushel of oysters. Some fresh and full of liquor some, some dried out, and many already dead and open. These are the sorting games that many retailers play with aging product. Not sure whats changed but Kool Ice is quickly losing me as a customer...
I drove hour on recommendation from a friend. I ordered jumbo crabs and I thought it was going to take at least 15 to 20 minutes. The crabs was ready in 5 minutes. I said that was fast I hope the crabs are cooked right. I got home and pulled them out the bag several of them was black in color meaning the crabs was aged. The crabs was dry and the seasoning for some reason was wet which I don't like. I said that to say this the crabs weren't good. I'm take pictures of the crabs and post them.
