Let me tell you about my experience. After we sit down, we wait 15 minutes for someone to ask us what we want to drink. As we wait for the drinks to arrive, a Karen next to us is complaining to a server that she can’t get a table and that there is “no order” involving who gets a table first. The server tells her to just wait for a free table, so she stands off to the side stalking everyone else eating. At about the same time, a guy by himself snags a table with 9 chairs. No one knows why. Finally, after about 10 minutes of death stares, Karen is able to get a table. As soon as she sits down, a different server spills a glass of water all over a boy sitting at a nearby table, so now he has to go and change his shirt. Karen’s husband has now gotten up 4 times asking for who knows what (even though they already have a table and he just needs to be patient) and now he’s just standing next to the bar looking defeated. The boy eventually comes back with a new shirt but has to sit in the same soaking wet chair. Now, a guy shows up at the bar next to our table taking at level 100 and laughing at level 3000. We order our food and it arrives eventually and is pretty good, but at this point 18 different people wearing lanyards have walked in and are now just wandering from table to table looking for somewhere to sit. And the Karen still hasn’t gotten her food so she looks like she wants to punch someone. Basically, if you’re looking for a fun cast of characters, come here. Overall though it kind of became a great experience. Very entertaining.

Exactly one year ago this week, my family experienced a terrifying and traumatic incident while staying at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay. My young niece, who has a severe peanut allergy, had an anaphylactic reaction shortly after eating candies (M&Ms and Hershey's Kisses) that she’s safely eaten many times before. There were no warning signs or allergy notices near the candy setup in the hotel, and we believe there was cross-contamination, leading to her being taken by ambulance to the emergency room. She had labored breathing and needed urgent care. Our first night — and much of our trip — was lost to fear and stress. I am attaching the pictures of the area that shows that there is nothing that states that cross-contamination may occur. Despite reaching out multiple times over the past year to both the hotel and their insurance representatives, we've received no meaningful response or resolution. My sister-in-law, a single mother, continues to receive medical bills, which were forwarded as instructed — and ignored. We expected Hyatt, a global hospitality brand, to treat this incident with care, urgency, and accountability. Instead, we’ve been met with silence. We have given them a year to do something, and since nothing has been resolved, we’re sharing this publicly now in the hopes that someone at @Hyatt will finally step up, acknowledge what happened, and address this situation with the seriousness it deserves. Hyatt just acquired Playa Resorts for 2.6 billion dollars I imagine they can reimburse us for the cost of the vacation that was ruined due to Hyatt’s negligence And maybe cover the costs of the medical care that was needed.
My favorite place to go to relax and unwind.
Food and drinks not worth the price. Food was not good. There were shells in the cream of crab soup and the grilled chicken on my caesar salad looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 6 hours and was so dry it was uneatable. The drinks were also bad… one tequila drink we got basically tasted like just pineapple juice with a spicy rim.

Food was great but service was not. Over an hour and several bar drinks and the food hadn't shown up. They ran out of some drinks and didn't say so for so long. It wasn't particularly busy unsure why it took so long.

Must get the fried pickles, absolutely fantastic!
We stayed at this hotel last night for my birthday. Let me start by saying the hotel is beautiful and not a detail is spared. The staff were so friendly and upgraded our room because it was my birthday. We got a suite, which was breathless. We stayed at the bar most of the night. The bartenders were wonderful. I didn’t get her name but she is from Russia if I remember correctly. Great service. We will be back!!
Had a bowl of cream of crab. There was a lot of crab, but also a lot of shell. I’ve never had cream of crab with shell in every bite.

I’m so torn on this review. The hotel itself is beautiful, rooms are clean and lovely and there is so much to do for kids and families. However, the food service is beyond terrible. Today at the tiki bar I ordered a chicken quesadilla and wings and sat at the bar waiting. I am not exaggerating when an hour and 45 minutes later I still didn’t have my food. I asked the bartender who had come on relatively recently to when I asked and he goes “I am slammed right now can you go over to where the kitchen is and flag someone down?” I literally thought I was being punked. Then at dinner at micheners tonight, we waited TWO hours for our dinner to arrive for our party of two adults and two kids. Credit to our rockstar waitress Gerri who we loved, our meal was comped, but still after the lunch experience I’m sensing a pattern with the the dining experience. After speaking with other guests this appears To be an issue and others are experiencing the same thing. For the entire restaurant tonight there was only two waitstaff working (Friday night in summer). Completely disappointed with our experience given the full resort like atmosphere they’re trying to create.
I really wanted to like this place. The view when you walked in is gorgeous. I had an accessible room because my daughter was in a wheelchair. There was an overwhelming smell of bleach upon walking in. We had to keep the windows open. Our phone didn’t work. An engineer came and thought he fixed it but it still didn’t work. We called (from our cells) to get housekeeping to pick up our dishes but no one came AND by morning everyone put their junk by our door after we were told to leave dishes outside the door. I had to maneuver my daughters wheelchair around this. There were beautiful weddings Friday adman’s Saturday night but unfortunately I could not get my daughter’s chair through the gray. She missed both nights events. I sent a letter and the response was “too bad - come back and we’ll do better”. Customer service (Manager - Logan of Housekeeping gets a zero). No one wants to know you’ve been heard and they do better - for the next persons. This is a great location but I would not recommend or go back. I just think they’re out to make a quick buck and they overbook. However it does still take away from the paying customers experience.

Really disappointed...instant iced tea, cold flatbread clearly out of a box, etc. I expected much better.

The property had poor customer service from the check in process. Asked if there were any rooms available for upgrade and receptionist who was the manger did not even acknowledge t request. Asked if both rooms could be close and was told they will not accommodate the request since it was not in the original reservation. Came to breakfast for the early bird and did not get the discount. Waitress was rude and explained had to be done before 8:30 for any discounts. Stayed at many Hyatt around the world and this was ranked as the worst.
Fantastic and would do it again! From arrival to departure, this has proven to be one of the most enjoyable vacations ever!!! The staff is sensational and the accommodations were lovely! Can not ask for more! We had a lovely time and the food was also delicious! Best eggs I've had in years!! The coffee could use a little upgrade, but that is the only thing! Everything else was superb!
I thought everything was beautiful! The room was very clean. The staff and front desk very nice. Not sure why others stated the staff was rude. Check in/out was a breeze. Yes, everything is overpriced, but so is every other place. What you are really paying for is the beautiful view. Will definitely be back!
The room was nice and clean with a great view, but the staff in the restaurants and on the grounds were horrid. Every time we asked a question they either mumbled the answer or acted like the question was putting them out. We were ignored after being seated at the restaurants and after about 15 minutes of watching them help others, we had to ask if they could get us water and take our orders. My four year old even noticed that as the only Black family in the restaurant we were the only ones the staff weren't waiting on. The bathrooms on the grounds were also fairly gross - flies everywhere and as though they hadn't been cleaned in a week. There were dogs barking all night and when we complained - again, the staff acted like we asked them for a pint of blood.
