First time at the resort. A very good meal at Waters Edge Grill. Shrimp and grit appetizer was awesome as was the special Ribeye. Awesome service.

Hoped to have a great dining experience on Christmas Eve. However, it was terrible from the moment we walked in. It took forever to get seated despite having a reservation and arriving 10 minutes after it opened. After being seated, it took forever for the waitress to come to the table. She apologized, stating that her manager had all the servers in a meeting. We ordered and it took forever. Several people who were seated after us received their food first. The kitchen or the waitress obviously lost or forgot our order but never bothered to acknowledge or apologize for it. At one point the waitress said it would be another 6 minutes which turned out to be 20 minutes. Overall, it took one hour to get our food. When the food came, it was terrible. I ordered the steak tips and it was a plate full of fat. The crab soup was over salted, and the bread was stale. My husband had Caesar salad with chicken that looked a day old. My daughter ordered that salmon, also terrible, and my son had the filet mignon which was fair. It was obvious the other guests were having a similarly bad experience because frustration in the restaurant was palpable. $200 later with no alcohol, we left. We passed a large group of people waiting near the hostess stand with the hostess no where in sight. One person asked me if it was worth it and I loudly said no, find somewhere else to go if you want a decent meal and decent service. I used to own a restaurant and know that all restaurants have bad nights, so I try to be understanding. However, there is no excuse for a restaurant, especially one in the Hyatt Chesapeake (which was listed in Condé Nast Traveler's list of top resorts in Maryland) failed so miserably on Christmas Eve.

We recently dined at Waters Edge Grill, nestled within the Hyatt Regency, and was captivated by the elegant atmosphere and stunning scenery. The ambiance sets the stage for a sophisticated dining experience, making it an ideal spot for special occasions and lovely pictures. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of artistry, each plate crafted with precision. However, I must admit that while the visuals promised a culinary adventure, the taste fell short of expectations, scoring a 3/10 for minimal flavor. It's disappointing when the visual feast doesn't translate into a flavor explosion on the palate. On a brighter note, the drink selection deserves commendation. The variety of mixed drinks offered is extensive, and the quality of the beverages is consistently high. This certainly adds a delightful touch to the overall dining experience. The restaurant's location inside the Hyatt Regency was exceptionally convenient, but it's worth noting that the venue is somewhat secluded. If you're seeking a quiet escape to be in nice scenery and have drinks, this could be a plus; however, those looking for a more full dining experience it may not be the spot.

We picked up food here and ate in our rooms every meal during our trip. The breakfast Shrimp and Grits was a culinary masterpiece for only $18.

Kanika was our server both nights and was AMAZING! She went above and beyond for us each night and is a big reason why we returned a second time. We even requested to be in her section - her service made all the difference.

Service was good. Food quality was similar to an Olive Garden or other chain restaurant. Pretty bland. Steak was drowning in gravy. Not worth the price. If you can, leave the hotel for your meal.

I had diner here before in the beginning of this summer and came back this morning to eat breakfast since i was checked out of hotel and wanted to eat before going to work. I stood to be seated over 10 minutes. No one came to help me so I walked in and asked if i could seat myself. The employee asked the manager and according to her told her, I mgmt said I could not seat myself and I had to stand there and wait. The manager in my opinion should of got his/her self up and helped but didnt even want to acknowledge me, just have me stand there. Their breakfast from what I remember is not even that good.

Gosh I've eaten so many times and it's my first review. It's the main restaurant at the Hyatt Chesapeake Resort. If you enjoy buffets, this is the place to dine. Breakfast buffet is your standard fare but they do have smoked salmon with all of the fixings. Nice display of pastries and bacon and sausage. Potatoes rotate daily. They have an egg station to order eggs and omelettes (miss how it used to been / waitress provided a sheet for you to check which eggs you liked instead of waiting in line). For Globalists, the buffet is complimentary. Dinners here also have a buffet and it is $39 per person. Very pleased with their offerings. Last night they had raw oysters, peel n eat shrimp, and prime rib. Yum. So much better then their Blue Point Provisioning restaurant ($59 per person). Make sure to make reservations on Hyatt website! They finally renovated this place. It was much needed with new carpets and furnishings.

Have had breakfast here on a few occasions while staying at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay. The breakfast buffet is solid but not particularly memorable. The dining room is neat, though, and the service has always been good.

Don't get the buffet, the food was not good, very salty, or lacked flavor, the rockfish was very dry because it sat in the warmer to long, they had paella and it was dry, no flavor, they had crab dip, very salty couldn't even eat it. The best thing in the buffet was the salad, dessert, and macaroni and cheese. They even had prime rib, and it had no flavor. I asked for steak sauce. Even the drink was missing something. I don't recommend

Redo the seating interior from the '80's. Great crab imperial. Darn good service. Thx

Two stars is being pretty generous. Made a reservation for dinner while staying at the hotel. It was...interesting. We did not opt for the buffet so ordered off the menu. My other half had a ribeye and it was basically a giant piece of fat with a small side of meat. I had the blackened chicken. It was fine? The rice underneath was kind of gross and I didn't eat it. Side of fries was the best part of the meal. Dinner for two + tip came out to $125 and we would have been way, way happier just going to a chain restaurant. Worse than the food was the service. Greeter was extremely friendly and engaged in conversation on the way to the table. The wait staff was odd. We had no idea what the two young men were saying as they were mostly mumbling. The primary waiter had long, dirty fingernails and zero communication skills. No one ever asked how our meal was. When we paid, the waiter literally threw down the check with our credit card and just kept walking without speaking. Won't be back, can't recommend.

I took my girlfriend here in hopes to share a great meal. The buffet was Mediterranean and mediocre. The food was not hot and had clearly been sitting out a while. The raw bar was great with fresh oysters and shrimp. This was especially disappointing since the buffet was $38. My girlfriend ordered a Caesar salad and crab cakes which were both APPETIZERS. They came out over an hour after ordering and after we talked to the manager. Otherwise who knows how long it would've been. The restaurant was by no means packed with business and those around us experienced the same frustrations, even a few walking out. The service was ok. Our servers name was Julian. We will not be coming back.
