The food is not the best. I ordered a large oxtail and for $30 i got 4 pieces of meat and 4 pounds of rice. This place use to be amazing, and the oxtail use to have spinners and you got value for your money. Not anymore. I will never return here.
I usually go in to get my food, but I was tired and decided to have it delivered; BIG MISTAKE! The oxtails were nothing but bone and fat. There needs to be better management on the quality of food. Too much money went in the trash today!!!
I’m extremely upset. I just had to deal with a customer who is mad at me because this restaurant has no clue how to package something like a normal human being. WHY would you put a NON FULL-CLOSED lid on a drink and then PUT IT IN A BAG?! Anyone with two brain cells would put a lid that isn’t thin plastic with a HOLE on top in a freaking BAG!!! Like you set us drivers up for disaster and don’t even warn us! Don’t EVERRRRRRR put those drinks without a fully closed lid in a bag! We will just put it in our cupholders if it has a straw hole! SMH USE LOGIC
Food is great, serving size is decent. Tables are a bit high to eat at but otherwise quiet and low-key.
Oxtails... Amazing. Curry chicken... phenomenal. The Rum cake.. OMG!!!!! So good 👍🏾.
This place is expensive and everything cost extra, I spent 18 dollars and no drink included is crazy, last time going just don't seem worth it to me, not for the price. Food is OK nothing to write home about and for 18$ atleats offer a fountain drink.

I’m highly disappointed in the quality of the Oxtail and the response I received after telling the server that I was not satisfied with the quality. For $28 I got four fatty oxtail with oily gravy. The food looked, smelled & taste like dog food. There was no spice to the oxtail in fact it taste like straight barbecue sauce. I called the store and the young lady told me “no manager was available “ I told her I would call in the morning and asked for a managers name… she hesitated and refused to give it to me. It’s two things in life I don’t play about and that’s my money or my food. This issue will get resolved thank God I used a credit card so I will definitely be disputing this. I hope the quality of the kitchen doesn’t reflect the quality of the food because I will be calling Maryland health department about this hole in the wall food. Save your money and time! DO NOT EAT HERE. If you want real Jamaican food go to JAM DOUNG

My favorite Caribbean spot to pickup curry goat, oxtail and brown stew chicken. They are consistent and have never failed me since opening however many years ago in the DMV! I love them more than Negril. I wish they would come back to Brandywine.

Most of the time when I go to this establishment I'll order the goat platter with cabbage. The consistency of the quality in the does not change no matter what time I go. The food service employees are always friendly and show good hospitality. The goat is always prepared properly in its tenderness and authentic flavors. Nothing ever taste old or set out. Please give this place business attention so they might stay around.

I used to frequent this restaurant and the food was really good. However, I just bought my usual brown stew chicken and OMG … it was the absolute WORST!!! First, no menus in restaurant. At that point, I should’ve left but instead I thought I would give it a try. The rice was overcooked, chicken absolutely no flavor/seasoning at all!!! Gravy extra thick and, again, NO FLAVOR!!!! Not even sure it’s chicken …. can’t identify what part of chicken it is. The only reason I’m not returning it is I had all the signs to leave it there but I didn’t and I refuse to waste the gas to take it back. I won’t eat this, it’s garbage and going straight in the trash. Don’t know what happened, did management or the cook change? Something Chsnged as it’s NOT what it used to be. Don’t waste your time or money. Go to Woodmore, Dat Jerk, for some good brown stew chicken!!!

I visited Irie Cafe for the first time today 04/22/24 and ordered a Curry Chicken , Rice/beans and Cabbage $16.00 and a Champagne Cola Soda $3.79. The food was really Bland and lacked seasoning, The portions was good but the food was flavorless to be Jamaican food.
